i think it was a very nice thing for u to have cut ur hair to help children in need ive tried to grow my hair but it wont grow past my underarms its strange. anyway u look very pretty both wats so dont listen to wat anyone else says if the say oh i hate it or anything else! u look so pretty!
you know, locks of love is a sham. they don't donate hair to bald cancer kids, they SELL hair to kids with alcopecia. you're better off selling your hair and donating the money to a charity of your choice.
While you did a nice thing, you did have very pretty hair! ya gotta be a bit pissed off that it is so short now. The pony tails were cute and sexy. You are still a pretty, sexy, smart young woman. Good luck
well at least she is humble now.they were just noticing her big boobs.not the bleached hair.i thought locks of love only want un colored hair? i guess thats a lie i have seen many girls liek her donate with color treated hair.
I thought it was so cute before! But if Locks of Love isn't fraud then you did a great thing! I was going to donate but my hair wasn't long enough... Anyway even though they don't save lives wigs help girls with their self image and make them feel pretty even though they don't have hair of their own.
But it is a fraud. They sell 99% of the hair (this is based on their own figures) and only 1% goes to alopecia patients, but even that has to be paid. Locks of Love has also received millions of dollars of money donations, but where does all the money go? It certainly doesn't all go to manufacturing wigs for just few kids.
ooh haha; i feel quite a retard now - im guessing this is an old video + i need to keep up :P haha. well thats fine then; you'll be looking 'smashing' again :)
You should grow it long again. However, you should find a better source to donate your hair to. L.O.L. is pretty much a scam. Look them up in the Better Business Bureau.
Last time I checked, their website doesn't say that. They claim that the hair goes to alopecia patients, not cancer patients. But in fact they sell 99% of the hair, and even the remaining hair isn't free. LoL doesn't meet the Better Business Bureau's Standards for Charity Accountability. Also check them out at Charity Navigator and Guidestar. Locks of Love is a fraud.
very interesting. Their website mentions cancer patients now, but that doesn't really matter, a kid without hair is an unhappy child, regardless of his/her illness. Your point is really interesting, though, I wonder why they're allowed to advertise like that, considering US strict law. Anyway, there is no 'locks of love' in Italy, so I can't contribute to anything similar
They seem to alter their website fairly often. There used to be a lot more info about statistics and such, but it has been deleted for obvious reasons. A kid without hair can always buy a wig from an honest commercial wig maker, there's no need to buy it from a scam organization like LoL. According to the tax returns, LoL has made millions of dollars from hair sales and money donations, yet they cannot even give 1 percent of the hair for free. Locks of Love is clearly not a charity, it's a scam.
If you cannot afford donating money, you can still donate blood or a kidney. By donating to Locks of Love you're helping them with their fraud. Besides, hair doesn't cure anyone even if it ends up in someone's head.
"Most of the hair donated does not end up on a child's head. It ends up being sold to commercial wigmakers. If you really want to help people with cancer, donate money to the American Cancer Society. Locks of Love is a scam."
"Locks of Love receives more hair that they actually use to make wigs for cancer patients.
Locks of Love SELLS the suplus hair for CASH! How much are they selling the hair for? In 2005, they sold $352,401 of hair! In 2005, they received $552,554 in contributions. They also do not give out every wig for free, they charge juvenile cancer patients according to their parent's income level. So they take people's hair and they take money from dying kids."
It's correct. LoL have stated that they collect around 2000 ponytails a week, that's over 100,000 ponytails a year. They say it takes 6 to 10 ponytails to make one wig. If we say 10 that would be over 10,000 wigs per year. The have been in business since 1997 and have only made over 2000 wigs in over 10 years. Less than one percent goes to alopecia patients (NOT cancer patients) and even that has to be paid, as they admit on their own website. Other hair is either sold or thrown away.
Most of the hair donated does not end up on a child's head. It ends up being sold to commercial wigmakers. If you really want to help people with cancer, donate money to the American Cancer Society. Locks of Love is a scam.

They also do not give out every wig for free, they charge juvenile cancer patients according to their parent's income level. So they take people's hair and they take money from dying kids.
Each wig they make is custom-fitted to the child that will receive it. The wigs are hugely costly, and they say right upfront that they will sell hair that isn't usable to help defray costs. They sell hair that is too short, gray, or chemically-treated for commercial use to raise money. I don't see the problem with that. As for not giving out every wig for free, of course they can't. Helping according to income level makes perfect sense. Why do you have such an issue with them?
They should be forthright with what they are actually doing. Most people who donate hair believe that their hair will actually go to these patients. According to Wikipedia, the hair that LoL uses comes from ASIA, and even if they do use some American hair in making children's wigs, at MOST it is about 1%! Do the numbers. 113 wigs in 2002, 104,000 donations. Even at ten tails per wig, that's about 1%. Most people do NOT know that their hair has been sold en masse for a few bucks.
your soooo funny!! i loved it! I am scared to death to cut my hair but thinking of children who suffer psychological stress due to the loss of their hair; I find it hard to worry about "just short hair". So, very proud of you!! You look great. I hear that your head feel really lite once the hair is cut off. ..
Would you consider donating some of your bosom for flat-chested women? Ha! Just kiddng. I'm still busy debating those idiots on your other page. You should stop in some time.
Just did mine today, and jeez, it was a HUGE change, i started crying because it was such a big shock, but now i'm okay because i know i'm helping some one out. :3
i have alopecia and thanks for donating =] your a good person and now you know how people feel loosing there hiar...im only 12 and thx for donating..u have courage
oh okay lol...i did locks of love too, just yesterday. btw i luv this video!! it was great of you to donate your pretty hair to it. dont worry, it'll grow back.

Yeah, red fades super fast, so every time I dye it red it looks great for about three days and then looks like crap for another month until I go back to blond.
