This is the other Paul Young. The guy you are thinking about was in Sad Cafe. He passed away in 2000, not this guy. I can't believe he is lip synching. Why would you do that to a song you sang twenty years earlier. Silly!

Not really...... They're all playing to a track, it's all fake. The bassist is playing fingering the slap parts and playing a fretted bass guitar when PAINFULLY obvious unfretted bass figures are being played. The whole song is the same as the studio track itself. He definitely doesn't sound that perfect after almost 30 years.
LOL I used to work at Ross and they always played this song in the radio..I heard it so many times I eventually got it stuck in my head and now its one of my faves..Awesome song!
Totally a great song! So heart felt and trippy sounding especially with the soprano on the bridge part of the song. First time I heard that song it gave me goosebumps! But no doubt, Mr. Young was there for show, not to so much perform, but he does know his songs well. It sounded like they remastered this cut as it was played over speakers during this show. However who in the hell was the weird "lady" in pink that had a body like Miss Doubtfire and a face like Beatlejuice with glasses on?! Ew.
The lip synch thing is not good I'm afraid. At his age, he should still be able to pull this off - I mean drop it down and sing it in a different key if you have to. A bit sad.

Look at the live aid video from 1985 v=jWHQtGIF658 he was maybe 24 years old here, its live and you can hear how good of a singer he was.

Only listened to the first 50 seconds so far, but if you queue up the original album and press play, you'll hear it is exactly the same.
Cant see the point in miming. People know and it reduces your credibility as an artist.
