And Lost Levels is a piece of garbage. It's a priced fan hack. Miyamoto left someone who didn't have his talent or creativity to make it while he made Zelda. Doki Doki Panic wasn't Mario, but it was much more fun to play than the hastily made lost levels. I treat Mario 3 as SMB's sequel, but SMB2:Mario Madness is at least creative. SMB2:Mario Madness>SMB2:Lost Levels

apparently the real reason that the origional SMB2 was cancled and replaced by the DDP remake was that NOJ felt that players of the USA/UK/EU were not skilled enough to play it and couldn't handle it because it was harder.

"nothing remotely familiar." there's mushrooms, stars and coins.

"toad is worthless" toad throws fastest, mario is worthless.

"they make it hard to replenish your health. you have to get a heart" or you can throw a door potion, go through the door, and get a mushroom, fully healing and also increasing max health.

"the second game makes finding stars a lot harder" i can get 2 stars within the first world of smb1. i can get 4 in smb2's first world.

Irate Gamer was right, The Lost Levels is the perfect "predecessor" to the first Mario game. I put that in quotations because it is the perfect sequel, so Irate Gamer is right. The Lost Levels is the hardest Mario game ever, but I am close to beating the game.
