What is labeled Valse no 3 on here I can't find anywhere. Does anyone know where to find this whole piece? The music I get when I look it up on YT is not the same melody as this. Is it Barrio? Thanks for any help. I'm looking for the audio, not the tab.
i don' t want to be a dick, but if you listen carefully you'll notice that he makes a little mistake at 02:09 --> even the greatest guitarist on earth is not perfect, so don't worry guys if you feel like you were a sucker at playing guitar ;)
he's got it all - a re pore with the crowd, and unbelievable chops and musical sense to back it up. there are a lotta great thumb pickers out there in you tube land, but He simply has the width and breadth of music to entertain and astonish most people.
I said fucking hell and i am on my own when he started plating all that classical stuff. Then pissed myself laughing when he started saying beat it and th godfather impression. Class

ATTENTION TO ALL TE FANS please fill the form in the Oprah website, suggest Tommy to the Oprah show, this is the best oportunity to show Tommy to all world. So if you love Tommy you will do this :D
going to see him in ATL oct 10----my all time favorite player---although Jerry Reed was a much better "hillbilly" composer. Tommy is the best alive today. BTW---i hate to refer to Reed as Hillbilly, but most ppl associate him with Smokey Bandit movies and "kitchy" story songs. He was a true master and i hope TE would one day just compose and leave the covers to others----although he has written some "good" stuff and does covers better than anyone could every dream.
he can do what he wants, sure, but it IS still too fast.
anyway on that note, I enjoyed it all the same but I just wish he'd know that he doesn't have to play fast to play skillfully, he can play it a bit slower, and a LOT faster in certain sections, that'd be better than top speed all the way through
I wonder if he's done a cover of jerry's breakdown though... if he has, I have to see it.
@super6plx has it ever occured to you that one of the reasons why players play fast is to make up for their lack of a certain musical sensitivity ? Have you ever seen John Maclaughlin play a ballad ? It sounds inferior to say, Joe Pass.
before you reply back, the sheet music, the composer, all say a specific playing speed, is what I'm saying
it's too fast regardless of if anyone likes it or not. I mean the tempo is written down and followed, not made up
do you know what I mean though? it's like - I don't even care that he plays it too fast, I'm just saying it IS too fast, I hope you know what I'm trying to say lol
@super6plx HAHA, I posted another comment to that one, but it didn't get through. Anyway, T.E. is very inspirational, as a guitarist. But there is very little that one could learn from this guy in terms of music as a whole.
@super6plx I personally learned more from soul, funk and rock artists than I ever did from a guitar virtuoso like T.E. Technique? Sure, but try tackling the groove and feeling of a song, and all that technique is of no use to you.Cuz it's about feeling and expressing, not about hitting notes.
@super6plx All that being said,I have nothing but respect for T.E. as an artist, it's just that I never listen to this guy in the car,at home chillin' or if I want to study a groove or a song...James Brown,Marvin Gaye,John Scofield, to name a few, those are artists to listen and dig in...T.E. does an awesome live act though....
This guy is the best guitar player of all time to me, obviously he is very skilled, but that's only half of it...he puts on a GREAT show, has personality, and is funny. Not a lot of guitar greats have both sides or are as fun to watch as Tommy, IMO
