nice video cause i don't live that far from Scarborough :) but no thanks to all of these 'up-their-own-arse' americans and canadians who think we actually give a toss what happens where they are!
Some pathetic comments here. Yes we know your storms are bigger/better in Australia/America or wherever but thats not the point.Good capture Cutie....I enjoyed it.
U canadians get storms that are real winners, I was insoutehrn ontario on Oct 6-8 2007 and got some nasty stuff so bad I couldn't even see the road at night while driving, the lightning helped e see
severe thunderstorms and tornadoes can occur anywhere in the world, as long as the conditions are right, here in Australia we get 15 tornadoes per year, in 1992 there was an F4 near Bundaberg and in 1970 there was an F5 near Newcastle.
Everyone stop boasting about your bigger thunderstorms and enjoy the damn video.why do americans always have to think that they are better than everyone else (Ego)....And Learn to spell :)

hey no offence but this is a boring storm compared to what we get.. not bieng meen or anything but just check out some vids from australian storms like the gap storm in november 2008.. there was about 3 lightning strikes per second in one cell!
I know I know, our storms are often way smaller than the beefy supercells in the USA and Australia. I intend on experiencing those sometime during my life! For now I settle for UK storms, which can be exciting, believe it or not!
@CUTIEP1388 they are exciting!!!!!!!!!!! i agree but i live in america but i appreciate storms in any place around the world!!!!!!!! especialy uk storms
you are a loud typer like my dad some times he must think he is using a typewriter can not believe this but this the same storm i was recording but i lost my videos and to top it of I was at my dads at the time from the midlands very freaky and or ironic
Not bad...but we have had worse than that. Here in North Wales night of July 3rd/4th 2001 lightning was recorded at strike rates in excess of 100+ per minute...
@scarlett24ca another big headed canadian prick hahahaha you always get one on a video regarding weather! nobody gives a shit if you get hail the size of cars and 3 mile deep snow.
sure do. very heavy rain, with hail at times, frequent lightning, and strong gusts of wind. Two ground floors of our uni block were flooded. For the UK at least, this was a severe thunderstorm.

All those people who claim "Our storms are better than yours" remind me of Vicky Pollard.

If a storm of that intensity occurred as early as April in that part of the UK, you must've had a freak hot spell as a prelude to that. Was that so?

You kidding this is nothing compared to Ontario storms..Come 2 Barrie and you will get Tornadoes and really bad storms.
scarlett24ca 3 years ago
Yes that is the point scarlett. This is pretty severe for a UK storm, but like you say nowhere near as severe as a N.American storm.
But seen as I am a Uk resident, this is the best I can show you!

This is bad for the UK! We hardly ever get thunder storms as bad as this

i was watching that from my front door at falsgrave it was brill love it when it rains and thunders like this lol
stroyds057 3 years ago
By UK standards that would be a severe storm but if you compare it to a United States severe storm this would be nothing.

Good video and impressive frequency of lightning. Especially as its only April! Hopefully this year will be a good one for thunderstorms in the UK :)
