Uh, yeah, the time interval needs to be longer than the shutter speed. For example, you set the shutter speed for 5s, you need to set the interval for 6s or longer. No big deal.
This remote cannot be used with Nikon F4 series cameras since they only have a 2-pin terminal and proper remote would be Nikon's MC-12B. However, it can be used with Nikon N90/F90 or N90s/F90x series.
Hi! I'm planning to buy a remote trigger for my D700 but how does this MC-36 performs in comparison with the wireless Hahnel Giga T-Pro? Thanks and regards
The Hahnel is unreasonably overpriced and shadowy intervalometer only and that is it. The MC-36 can do practically everything, including intervalometer.
This looks pretty good...So I can set my camera to Bulb and actually have this remote do timed exposures with intervals...like for star trails? For some reason when I do interval timing on the camera (a bunch of 30 second shots), there's a delay of between 2 and 3 seconds (and this is with NR turned off). I have no idea why it does this.
Also does the same thing with a remote plugged into the camera and the D300 in continuous drive. I had a play and did it manually every 30 secs, and no gap.
This device is a bit confusing, the manual shows the interval time overlapping the exposure so if you want a shot ever 10secs with an exposure of say 5 secs would your interval than be set to 15secs to achieve this.
Close. Set for 5 seconds interval. It will capture a photograph every 5 seconds and every other photograph is for 10 seconds. Truthfully speaking, we would not do that because it could get very confusing to sort all the images from the folder.
Sorry about that last comment, I really shouldn't play with my camera equipment while taking Nyquil, my apologies and you reply was correct, I screwed the Delay setting to cause my situation.
Will this work on a d3000? O.o if not.. I'm having a little trouble finding something that will allow remote timing for the d3000. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Unfortunately, no and there is no remotes that allow you to do time lapses with the D3000. Only Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 software can allow you do time lapses but tethered from camera to computer via USB cable.
Anytime. We believe we will be making a tutorial on how to do time lapses with Nikon Camera Control Pro. But the thing is, we're not sure how many people actually use it for time lapse since they would need to lug a laptop with them. Not to mention it costs over $100. We'll see.
This is identical to the Phottix TR-90 I just bought from their website in Hong Kong - $52
It comes in versions for most cameras. Saved $130...yaaaa

@booster185 except it won't be covered by nikon warranty if the remote messes up your camera.

Fantastic video! This greatly helped me make a decision on whether to buy one of these or not. Thanks!

One thing to note, Interval settings starts at time of exposure and needs to be set at least 2 secs longer than the Long (exposure) settings.
MC-36 Formula: Long + ( Time you want between shots) = Interval

Look for pearstone shutterboss in the B&H shop. It's the same!

Yes, except this fact: if this third party remote causes malfunction to camera and/or its circuit board(s), Nikon won't cover it under warranty.

@gangrenous77 , My camera has long exposure NR, and it also has high ISO NR too, maybe your camera has high ISO NR switched on ?
