  • i have a horse just like that too its also a icelandic horse

  • is that man big, or that horse small?

  • It's looks very funny

  • Oh, it is so comfy! I've only ridden it a few times when we were on vacation in Iceland, and it is so fun!

  • i like owning a icelandic horse

  • tolt tolt tolt! :D :)

  • tolt tolt tolt! :D :)

  • I would love to try the tölt someday... :)

  • so pretty and funny at the same time

  • so pretty and funny at the same time

  • Wooow the guy isn't moving hardly at all!!!!

  • I wanna try !

  • My horse only tölts when we go chasing reindeer xD

  • I once decided to try and chase reindeer when I was riding. My horse was never much of a tölt horse, but once he got into chasing reindeer, he's been tölting like an angel ever since!

  • cavalo maravilhoso!

  • I love tolt its nothing like trot :D

  • It's funny! :D

  • thats insanely fast! :L love it:)

  • I love this gait, it's so pretty to look at!!

  • That's funniest horse walk I've ever seen but still it looks very cool and comfortable.

  • holy shit!

  • This appears to be very similar to the American Saddlebred Rack. It appears the same sequence in hoof motion, also a relative to the American Saddlebred is the Paso Fino horse which also does a gait similar to teh Saddlebreds rack. If you rack a Saddlebred your body position on the horse is very similar. So if you want to feel the that gait ride a 5 gaited American Saddlebred.

  • hes tap dancing and running a marathon at the samne time! lol

  • is he driving a car?:)

  • your caballo is American Trotter ?

  • Is he a lateral gaited horse?

  • @rosazone85 Not really. This gait, the tolt, is diagonal. Similar footfall to a walk. Some have a lateral gait, the flying pace, which is also smooth and very fast but is only for relatively short distances. Altogether the Icelandic horses can have five gaits!

  • @rosazone85 Yeah it is a lateral gait, but it does not have a flying moment.

  • I love these horses and really would love to have one, but I live in Texas, and it'd be way to hot for those guys.

  • It just looks so smooth; the rider is barely moving. It looks like the horse is floating over the ground.

  • wow! are the guy on the horse dead?!

  • i luv the sound of the hoofs hitting the road!

  • This is an unusual gait (I think it's strange). Your horse is so beautiful!

  • weeeeeeird…

  • I WANNA TRY THAT!

  • is that a trot or a funky canter

    ?

  • is that a trot or a funky canter\?

  • Riding like a boss

  • Man, I love icelantic horses.

  • Imagine a bunch of kids cheering, expecting a herd of beautiful, majestic Friesian horses... And then this tolts by.

Imagine the look of disapointment on their faces.. XD

  • @DarkChoco123321

You have obviously never been near an Icelandic. They are very beautiful horses and this is the best gait I have ever ridden. I would prefer and Icelandic to a Fresian any day.

  • Iv ridden one in Vermont!

    Best experience ever!

  • I love tolt, the first time I went it, it was totally by accident, I didn't know WTF the horse was doing...

  • Looks very smooth..amazing! I have had a spine operation, and have not yet ridden since..a smooth horse would be ideal! I used to be flexible, but my lower back has seized up a lot since the operation. what an astonishing gait..like the front legs are turning bike pedals!

  • forget the flinstones car use this horse

  • Music to my ears!!♥ :)

  • Music to my ears!!♥ :)

  • icelandic horses are great. Hedinn fra Føreidmyra <3

  • i love this

  • Mazec! :-D

  • one barn i go to in the summer has one of these horses and your horse is very beautiful!!

  • lovely horse

  • hahahahahha that dude has well been stuck on... he looks like he has rigamortis, or however you spell it (': how doesnt he move !! thats amazing !

  • Sorry, but tolt is not as easy as trotting. I have rode horses on endurances and trotting is better for the horses, the vet says. Its only easier for the riders, not for the horses.

  • @Enduraner

Well then your vet doesn't know much about the Icelandics. They were bred for centuries to have a smooth fast gait that was easy for both the rider AND the horse so that they could travel long distances easily. They are great for endurence riding, and the tolt is just as easy if not easier for Icelandic horses because they have the right conformation and are specially bred to do it.

  • Is this in Iceland? It sure looks like it.

  • Thats how they run away from lions in the wild :D

  • WHAT A FAST LITTLE BUGGER?! LOL :D BEAUTIFUL :)

  • wish my horse was like that..

  • sorry,but this es very funny :D

  • @LeO1803le

I had to laugh when he gets faster, too :DD

but it somehow looks gorgeos, too. when you imagine the rider wasn't there :D

  • WOW! Grat!!!!

  • WOW <3

  • COOL BRAH!!!

  • What breed of horse is that... In Puerto Rico that's call paso largo

  • @ElBori92100 it's an icelandichorse

  • @ElBori92100 Islandic Horse :)

  • i have always wanted to ride an icelandic

  • @xoMouseyox You rly should try! I have been riding them sense i was 6 years old and they are calm, nice and just perfect you know? you should go for it and try!:)

  • Wow, no wonder they can cover great distances at that gait. And yes, it's natural and very smooth to ride obviously.

  • wahahaha i love it

  • Wery beatiful horse ♥

  • Beautiful Gait on your horse.

  • i ride an icelandic <3

  • omg tht dude isnt even moving haha

  • @LoveRidePeace icelandic ponies are freakishly smooth to ride no matter what speed, they are so much fun , so level head and majority are extremley well behaved and quite. they are a total stress reliever (:

  • How long can your horse do this??It seems very tiring:S

  • @Liaram66 Tolt is specifically used for long distances, it's easier than trotting and a lot of Icelandics will opt to tolt rather than trot.

  • @Intikama actually the tolt is used for short distances. The horse can only maintain it for a short time

  • oh thats sooo cut/funny

  • thats horrible

  • Lol this video just makes me laugh... it looks like the horse is peddling a bike or something!

  • lovely!!

  • COOL!!!

  • i want one

  • Run like thw ind cowboy!

  • Run like the wind cowboy!!!

  • He looks like he's cruising around in a car! I love Icelandic horses...difficult to groom though, with all that hair haha.

  • That looks amazing! You're like...not.. moving.. at all. xD now my dad HAS to buy me an icelandic.

  • I can sort of emagine the horses front legs riding a bycicle!

  • Wow, what a fantastic tölt!!! I'm no judge but it looks great!

  • i love icelandic horses they are soo cute and the Tölt is a very steady and comfortable way of walking

  • nice really nice;)

  • omg.. ;)

  • wow! that is awesome! its so smooth and looks comfrotable!

  • @themisscupcake15 I can see your point but icelandics need a little harder ground for clearer beat and greater leg movement ,while big horses need soft ground for their landing when jumping an obstacle :)

  • Looks and sounds like a rack gait. I used to have a Racking horse, and it was the most comfortable gait in the world to me, the top of my head never moved! Beautiful horse and scenery! Take care.

  • das is der geilste tölt den ich jeh gesehen habe!

  • das is der geilste tült den ich jeh gesehen habe!

  • geil ehj :D xd.

  • Great video! He's quite amazing... I had the opportunity to ride an islandic horse in Austria (my daughter worked there for a year). Also had the opportunity to see a few competitions. Thanks.

  • paahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahhahaha!!!!!

  • When it's going fast it looks really awkward xDD

  • The most amazing thing about this is how the rider never even moves. Man that looks like a smooth ride. AWESOME!

  • @supercoratje No it's not tiring for the horse thats the point of it. Icelandic horses were used as transoprt around the island and the efficient Tolt gait enabled them to go fast over rough terrain for long distantces. My friend had an Icelandic horse and he was faster in tolt than my bigger horse was in trot. He kinda shrunk a few inches and just propelled across the ground, it feels really weird but is very smooth!

  • wauw , the horse is great!

I like the way of riding.

  • wooooooooow wierd!!! ive never seen a horse do this before! it looks so strange!

  • O.O That looks suprizingly fun xD

  • lol, when I went to sweden with my father I convinced him to take a tour riding with me, it looked so funny to see him, 50 years in which he never sat on a horse at a pace faster than walk, on that small pony which was just tölting off and he was sitting there holding his hands and feet out all wrong, looking super funny and really big on that tiny pony and being all like "wheeee" :D I almost fell off my own horse laughing. This just reminded me of it :') haah, good times, good times...

  • I watched this three times and could not stop giggling. The horse looks like it should be wearing a monocle and a top hat with such a fancy trot!

  • sweet! :D

  • bom de mas

  • Today I got passed by by a girl riding the tölt on an Iceland horse. Very beautiful. Fast too.

  • nice :)

  • Very nice !! A very beautiful horse !

  • I read somewhere a while ago (I think it was Pony mag - they did a profile on Icelandic horses) that in this gait they kinda trot with one end and canter with the other.

They're such amazing little horses :)

  • pass ist voll bequem

  • i wonder how one would actually breed a certain way of moving into a horse breed? i don't understand the genetics of it.

  • wow. this is gonna sound weird but what does it feel like when the horse is tolting?

also its a very lovely horse. what's the name?

  • i kinda feel bad for the horse.

  • Why dose this make me lol

  • ...Just when you think you've seen everything!!!

  • poor horse

  • @tjoabs Why?

  • hihi, this looks funny =D

  • im not trying to bag out the horse breed or anything,

but it looks so funny! hahahaa

  • im not trying to bag out the horse breed or anything,

but it looks so funny! hahahaa

  • @TheRubyRose13 It's extremely comfortable.

  • Hi, I have an icelandicXwelsh cob and I'm interested on whether or not he'll do it but I don't know how to ask him . Please could you help me with what the aids are ?

  • @1llym00 Did your horse show the tolt by himself, maybe out in the fields? If not, chances are that he hasn't got it in him. And otherwise you could ask someone with experience; it's kinda hard to explain how to tolt on the internet ;) good luck anyhow!

  • @1llym00 you have to raise your horse's head and sit very heavily on the saddle, to give weight onto his back .. try that at a walk first just to see if your horse is able to do that . but it happens that even an icelandic doesn't have this gait so don't be dissapointed if your horse wont do it : )

  • @1llym00 you have to sit heavily on the saddle to give weight on his back ,then you must raise his head ,just with raising your both hands a little bit ,with both reins tight enough .. it also happenes that an icelandic doesn't have this gait so don't be dissapointed if your horse won't do it : )

  • @1llym00 Cant teach it to him, this is a natural gate for icelandics and sometimes old world breeding line fjords only. They have it or they dont. very very smooth. I have a Fjord with it and I can drink coffee while going this speed with him, they can also keep this gate for very extended distances, many many miles without breaking it.

  • @Race62hud

But can he also walk, trot and canter normally?

  • @ChibiSugar of course

  • @ChibiSugar

yes, they can do everything a normal horse can do, plus one or two other gaits (tolt and flying pace)

  • pff sa sert strictement a rien a par lui faire du mal !!

  • Nice! There is nothing like watching a good horse! Beautiful counrty too!

  • I like the sound of that. ;)

  • wow das is so geil :)))))

  • The guy could be sitting in an armchair! he doesnt move! :)

does anyone know if you can teach a horse to tolt? :)

  • @XxILoveDollyxX No, sorry, it's a natural gait for the icelandic, and its unique. Do you have an Icey?

  • @NightSkyRider13 It's not unique, There are more breeds that can tölt.

  • @NightSkyRider13 You have to see Andadura videos from Puerto Rico

  • @XxILoveDollyxX no, i dont think so, it is a natural gait on icelandic horses and they are gaited unlike other horses such as QH's

  • wow, thats really cool, ive never done a tolt before, looks fun :) and it looks so smooth!!

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!

  • wow! very nice job! The place where i go ride with icelandic horses is good place but the tölt is not like that. The horses takes very small steps, but your horse is taking long steps and it's looking wonderful :) sorry my bad english...

  • nice horse how much do you want for him

  • wow!

  • I have an icelandic horse at home and its very pretty

  • crusin'!

  • its so cute!!!

  • dang! you could drink coffee on that ride! :D

  • C'est trop bienn !!!

il va super vite le cheval et nous, sur la selle, on bouge pas !!

  • hmmmm soo bequem :D ♥

  • beautiful! I love how there five-gaited!:D

  • wow!

  • Phantom feline - there are no big predators in Iceland

  • aww that's so cute =) I've always wanted to ride an Icelandic :3. x

  • Das sieht so toll aus ! Wie schnell das Pferd wird und der Reiter bewegt sich kein Stück. =)

  • @themisscupcake15 It actually was not that hard, just a farm dirt road, but I use a very sensitive microphone to pick up the cadence of the beat. It sounds a lot harder than it was. But it is a good point.

  • tolt...cantering while trotting....equals....WTF?!

  • he looks and sounds like a little train

  • LOL imagine, in the wild you see a herd of beautiful icelandtic horses, a predator goes up and chases them, and instead of galloping you get this. (they tolt away! XD)

  • @PhantomFeline2

the horse would gallop away . this type of running is called ambling the most comfotable way of actually riding a horse :) if you breed amblers the pony would have that natural amble :) these horses are really amazing

  • haha lol c impressionant le monsieur parait vraiment comme sur une moto aucun rebondissements ... c hahaha

  • What an AMAZING horse! Great video.

  • see a brazilian horse

    Campolina

  • da ssieht so geil aus

  • ça doit être drôle à essayer ! Dommage que les chevaux français ne sachent pas le faire ...

  • is that a pony or a motor scooter? :)))

  • DAMN! That little sucker can FLY!

  • yes what a amazing horse

  • Funny is it :-D

  • lmao

  • Yes they do it naturally but my Icelandic also canters a regular 3 beat canter as well, and a typical racehorse gallop. And those of you that say it looks uncomfortable or it looks exhausting for the horse, thats odd, since they do it naturally. My horse chooses this gait at liberty over a trot.

  • That's the funniest thing!

  • is it for the horse an intensive gait ? cuz it looks very exhausting (for the horse)

  • @supercoratje It is a natural gait for the Icelandic. They have incredible stamina.

  • wonderful !

    amazing horse :)

  • that doesn't look comfortable

  • @jberban420

well for the horse its natural for human butts, i'm not sure yet :P
