would it work to put a minecart on the bottom if it's not as deep so you can reach it and then jump out without getting burned when u exit? cuz that way you can do it without getting burned. you just gotta be careful the way you set up the tracks for the minecart so it doesn't roll away

4. make the hole go lower of at least 2 blocks

I've made things similar to this with just water. Doing it with lava is a good idea, that way people will be less likely to just randomly jump in.
