Rachel Maddow is an Oxford educated Rhodes Scholar (take note Christine O'Donnell) who has her pulse on what is right in American politics. Her nightly show contains the most well researched information I've ever seen or heard. The difference between the accuracy of her programme and the low brow, muck raking rubbish on the Fox Network is in a word QUALITY. Rachel cares about her audience enough to ensure that she delivers only the best in television journalism. Rachel is an American treasure.
What's Susan's last name? Does she have a website dedicated to her art? How was the show received in NYC?
Rachel is so refreshing. I delight in her show, and the humour and honesty sorely missing in most talking heads (with apologies to Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert)
Apparently she said this on a Kent segment about fossils:
"When I first got together with Susan she had a cat that was 40 years old and I used to have nightmares that that cat would walk around on its hind legs and kill me. My recurring nightmare. I really like this person that I just met but that cat and my recurring nightmare was that that meow-meow would come and stalk me. Shes really not (ph) for me."
Aww/lmao. I hope somebody finds that one and posts it.
Rachel has hd a long-time partner for at least 4 years, I believe.
Also, she broadcasts from a much smaller studio than the one that Keith does.
Massachussets, i think. Maybe they're all a lot closer/more casual. I dunno, but yeah, I always hear stuff, like they're setting up for another show in the adjacent room, lol.
Garlic road salt will keep all the undead drunk drivers at home.
Rachel and her partner have been together for 9 years I think. But I'm not sure. And no, the show broadcasts from New York, Rockerfeller Center, same place as Keith Olbermann. Yeah, you can hear people in the background all the time. It's annoying. I think they're short for studio space and this area where they film her show is the only space they have for now. Maybe that'll change later.
When you say noisy to you mean laughing? 'cus I like the laughing :) it makes it seem more friendly, you're not laughing alone
yay to the Susan mention, hadn't heard it before though I've heard her say she was gay on other shows and its pretty obvious
yeah they've been together about a decade I think
haha to the dog being interested in his pants at the end, even funnier if you're from the UK 'cus I guess he meant trouser and not underwear like it means over here
just finished watching this podcast and i loved this bit.. and the rest of the show of course.
Agree with zentropy78, Rachel has mentioned Susan before on her show and I think she's made reference to herself being gay when disussing some stories.
Why is there always such a lot background noise during the show? and when Rachel has a guest in the studio you can usually see people walking past in the back.. is the show filmed in the lobby or something???
How can anyone ever be so adorable and kickass intelligent at the same time. Someone please answer.

I totally love that you can hear her family laughing in the background towards the end of the segment. :)

This is the first time since I started watching her that Rachel explicitly made reference to being a lesbian.
Rock on! :)
