It was Villano IV (Thomas Mendoza, the younger brother of Villano V, contrary their number). He did walk out on his own. He did NOT break his neck, but did suffer from herniated discs as a result, as well as a shoulder injury. It did require some rehab, but he was able to continue his career in CMLL. I think he might be the only of Los Villanos that hasn't been unmasked, unless I'm forgetting something.
i remeber this. but i thought there names were like iv 3 and iv 4 or somthing and they wore yellow. and they imediatly called for paramedics and actualy broke character. must of happened more then once
I remeber seeing this back in the day, I was like fuck man, i remeber his bro tried to get in the ring but raven or kanyon wouldnt let him cause they were staying in charecter
@mrchampsi Actually, they didn't stay in character. I remember it as if I watched it yesterday. Raven and Kanyon immediately broke character. Raven kneeled beside the guy holding his head in place so he didn't move it and cause any more damage to his neck and Kanyon was down on one knee hovering over him as well checking on him. When I say immediately, I mean it. As soon as they hit the move they knew it went wrong and jumped right into position to keep his injury form getting worse.
the botch was horrible. I always cringe when professionals get hurt b/c I know it was for our entertainment, but I ROTFL at the "backyard" wrestling people...on a lighter note, are you sure it was Villano III?? There's like 1000 of em lol...
just 5 man, don't be so exagerated, and three of them (i don't really remember) are unmasked now, but daaaaaaaaamn, that's a huuuuuuuge bothc, here we call it pendejada
I was at that Nitro, man that was a horrible show, Kevin Nash even got on the mic and said "I'm sorry Boston, real real sorry" and we left the building chanting "RAW RAW RAW!".
Like the guy above said, the Villano ended up leaving under his own power, which was amazing.
This was a bad botch. I remember Raven standing there looking concerned and the other Villano trying to go on with the match. I think the sad legacy of this is this move is now referred to as the "Villano-Breaker".
I remember seeing this happen on live TV. I think it pushed the broadcast back 10 minutes while the crews got him out. I remember raven freaking out asking if he was OK and apparently getting a message from the ref and doing a half-felt pin
i remember watching that. i think it was kanyon's fault for not doing the drop in timing with raven, but maybe raven did it earlier than they were used to.
raven barely showed it in the ring, but he was freaking out. he did that thing where he used to sit in the corner of the ring, and just watched him for a bit (didn't want to break character), but Villano V (i think) just wasn't getting up, so raven got back up and went to check on him with the refs and docs.
Was there too. It was intense. Raven was holding his head in place during the commecial and broke character. Never seen him do that before. It was crazy.
that doesnt always mean a guy doesnt have a broken neck. its not completely unheard of for a person to be able to move and walk with certain breaks. im sure it hurts like hell but i have heard of it and seen it (football, etc). now if villano was dancing and cartwheeling away he was probably not hurt.
alright and go onto his website and read his interviews. they have promos posted on there and he says QOUTE. so go check out a website thats run by both Raven and his friend.
How about no? There's been times he's said 'Quoth' and then there's been times he has said 'Quote' I go by the earlier version, because Quoth is so much better sounding than Quote.
to be fair, raven was really, really high back in those days

I remember reading that it was actually the Villano's abdominal area that was injured, not his neck.
That was basically Kanyon's fault.

Raven on the other hand generally uses Quote.
Which makes you Jubbles a fucking idiot, that is all and good night.
