One thing i do regret though is not living in the States, that is were ALL the BEST SOUL & FUNK was made( and BLUES & JAZZ) I would of been able to access all the thousands of 7inch INDEPENDENT SOUL records that were released, ESPECIALLY IN THE SOUTHERN STATES, Georgia,Memphis,Mississippi.ect .A DJ used to play them on the radio over in the UK, and the influence of LOVE, SLAVERY AND AFRICA was written all over them, they were astonishing and certainly helped me make it through the night and day
REDJAM40, I totally agree with you, there was literally HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF FANTASTIC FUNK RECORDS COMING OUT between 82 -85, i was so lucky to be 20 years of age at the time, BUT ONE MAJOR PROBLEM was because of my age , i also loved women, and should of spent more time buying records, than burning the midnight oil with all those chicks, My favourite year was 1978, 5 years before all the GREAT FUNK albums and 12inches came out(excluding J B)I am into SOUL just a little bit more.
Shout out to my boy Michael Bailey aka Mike Traxx on this!! DAMN!!! Seems he always had that soulful bass from back in the days!! LOL!! When I play this for him he is gonna FLIP OUT!!! LOL!! Thanks for whoever posted this. Downloading it now. Will be rockin it at my after hour lounge spots!! Sound quality on this joint is GREAT!!
This is just one of the early 1980'S tunes that were coming so fast & furious you had to decide there & then at the records shops which one you had to leave behind. Not the ones to take. This is just another great tune that never got the create for a really great period in black music in regards to Soul/Funk & Rnb music from that time (1980's). Even though most of the musicians were using new technology ( Drum machines, Bass Synthesisers) it was always used to make tunes more soulful or funky.
Love this tune,,used to drop this regularly on Solar and Starpoint radio,someone would always ring in and say what a "tune "it is....I think it'sgot a real randy muller sound to it...
yo what album is this of of? i looked everywhere to track this song but couldnt find it ANYWHERE. (wiki, myspace, amazon, etc.) can i please get the artist and the album title. please?
@mridulb Rams Horn put out a CD called "12 Inch Dance Classics vol. 5" in the late 80s, and you can pick that up on discogs; also there's a CD called "Rare Preludes Vol. 1" that you can grab. But if you want the instrumental version (and you do, as it is an even deeper jam, in my opinion), you gotta get the 12" vinyl, and that's gonna cost a heavy chunk of change (probably around 75 bucks). It's one of Prelude's rare platters.
What is the rest of this album like, or the other albums in the Rare Preludes series? I had a quick listen on i-tunes but seemed like this was the stand-out. Beautiful song, love those drawled out lyrics, very sexual!
This is an amazing track, and it's not hard to find on ebay neither. Such a funky/electro shuffler with so-cool-it-hurts vocals. Thanks for uploading. Love it Love it Love it!
Oh man, You took the advantage to me: this song I danced in 1983 when i was 17yo in discos and clubs. I did the video but I didnot upload it. Oh those years...This song, Sharon Redd, the Starpoint band, George Duke, Unlimited Touch, the italo producers like Gino Soccio...all those charts...all music and sound we miss now. Hear the bass line of this song: today Jamiroquai do the same line on some songs...
Thanks for reply, I have been trying to find a rare track called, Her Kisses don't lie and thought it may be by Visual, or Vision, Or Fission, It's from 1980-83ish and it's driving me nuts trying to find out exactly who recorded it, It was very Popular on the London Pirate radio scene at this time. and was aired alongside the Starshine track that you posted!

@TrainmasterCurt I dont know about that .
apparently music artist were trying to do that in past decade (2000-2009)
by bring back sound and fashion from the 80's with not so good(fail) results.
they tried and they somewhat managed to fuck that up. it a shame
anyway your right LONG LIVE electro-funk-disco synth music!!!!!
