Many people play sicilienne and rigaudon, but the thing is how they play it. I doubt many violinists can play it like Perlman, even playing jingle bells you can notice how good is a violinist. The thing that matters is the quality not the amount.

When im studying, many times i play songs i studied 7 years ago just to see the difference and how i developed in all that time.

I love that in the Rigaudon, Perlman doesn't bother to shift at all. He just extends his fourth finger a ridiculous amount and manages to have perfect intonation. That's a true master violinist.

The Rigaudon isn't that difficult, if you look at it, it is basically just scales and arpeggios. If you practice those (like you should be) you should have no problem. Just work slowly and build up speed as time goes on.

I might be voicing a minority opinion here, but Perlman's playing felt a little sloppy (beyond artistically liberal or carefree)--but I may have felt this because the piano player was quite by-the-book and took little artistic liberty.
