@Zipperman2000 I originally thought it would have to be done frame by frame, but ive come up with a couple methods that will keep me from having to do every frame, and its working quite nicely.
@legalizeshemp420 The roto work hasnt been completed yet. This is the original footage to show what I have to work with. Once I finish the roto/masking, ill upload a before and after.
@ShepperdOneill Oh, wow I kinda thought this was but sub consciously I looked at all of the work involved in what I saw and my brain imploded saying this has to already had some done on it. No, think of the kittens, lol.
@legalizeshemp420 lol, I guess I should have explained it a little further than what I did in the description. The whole idea is to place a large structure in the background, but in order to pull that off, I have to create a separate foreground layer of the kids, playground, trees, and preschool building.
@DamienBenoit To be honest, its not as bad as I thought. Ive got most of it masked, and there was very little roto work. Ive found a few nice tricks for this that are working nicely. I only had to roto the blond girl on the sea saw.
Once I get a mic, ill explain these work-arounds a littler better.
@BestBassBeats This is the clean plate (original footage) that im working with. I have to roto out (mask out) the kids and playground so I can place a large building (out of C4D) into the background.
Once this is done, ill see about putting together a tutorial on rotoscoping and multipass out of C4D.... but keep in mind that it will probably be in multiple parts. It wont be a short one. :)
hahaha yea i do a lot of roto work and yea thats a lot of work...thumbs up

So...the masking will be done frame by frame? If so, that is hell indeed...

@ShepperdOneill Heheh, well how many months (in man hours) do you suspect it will take?

@legalizeshemp420 At first I thought it would take days of work, but to be honest, ive already got most of it done. lol
Ive been playing around with a few methods that are working quite nicely that dont involve much roto at all.
