  • I'm having trouble putting the videos to my macbook. every time i plug the usb to the camcorder it doesn't upload the videos. do I have to download the disc that it came with in order to upload the videos? Now I have unplugged the usb from the macbook (after I eject it) and it says not to do that... so is my camera broken or??? I'm worried :/

  • With XA10... 24p logs in out of sync . No probs importing via iMovie 11. 30 fps same thing. ^0i imports fine. Ditto 24 . Thanks for the video. Saved aggro.

  • This was shot at 24p. That might explain it.

  • how do i upload video off my hard drive of the camera using a usb cord

  • @rufpictures I simply plug in my HG10 using a USB to USB Mini and then upload using "Log&Transfer" in FCE.

  • Frank! Good video on HG10 working with Final Cut Express. My question is if there is a way to move source of all those Clips. Mine are all immediately saved in Capture Scratch on the Macintosh HD, but I want them to go to an external hard drive. You mentioned to just move the folder, but that doesn't seem to change what Final Cut Express sources the Clips to. Can you help me please?

  • which do you prefer? avchd or dv

  • @frankt7474 So for import function I go with AVCHD, but when editing in Final Cut I set my projects for HDV.

  • but you selected the other...what's the diff..i have the hg10 like you...

right at 2:03 you selected the avchd, right?

then, "fce part 1/2 setup avchd"..you selected the hdv selection...i am a newbie, so just wondering the diff and if it makes a diff on quality?

    thanks man

  • @frankt7474 I see what you mean, you have to select AVCHD the first time then you can switch, there is no quality dif tho, didn't realize I had done that.

  • hey frank, frank here...you selected two different selections in the easy setup...first you selected the dv then you selected the avchd...which is it?

  • @frankt7474 If you are using the Canon HG10 you should use AVCHD

  • I LOVE YOU FRANK! xxxx

  • @DaViglio Awesome, I love to be loved! Glad I could help...

  • when i import a video the video is playing twice as fast and the audio stays the same

  • @Comictoons321 Sounds like a codec issue, or lack of maybe. Look in the description and try the codecs link, some of the codecs may or may not need to be installed. Also check you project settings 30fps vs 24fps this could throw the video off possibly. Are you using the HG10 and FCE?

  • Thank you Frank! I kept getting the error, too. This fixed everything. I appreciate it.

  • @chasegassaway Awesome, glad to help and thanks for the post!

  • @FranksTechHelp I did all of those things but I'm still getting same errors as "chasegassaway" used to get. Please help! I have a new Sony CX 520. Thanks

  • @rvarzidehkar Back up the data on your camera memory, then reformat your media inside the camera, shoot some video and try to hook it up again, it worked for my friend who owns the same camera. Let me know...

  • @FranksTechHelp I fixed it! It just needed an update. Thanks though.

  • @rvarzidehkar Cool deal, I bet you are a happy camper now that it works, have fun!

  • Great vid, but how do you actually log in the video? I understand the settings, but what are the actual steps for logging?

  • Go to File then Log and Transfer. If your camera content doesn't show then click Add Folder (folder button upper left of Log window) then point the directory to the root of your camera and it should find it and show your content.

  • I posted a video response showing how to do this, thanks for posting.
