  • Incredible!

  • truly amazing ♥

  • @NOHANDBILLS ahh fuck man, there is always one...

  • Beautiful!!! I played this piece years ago at a concert in Hawaii. Your performance is inspiring.

  • So hard piece! Unbeliveable! I can't imagine how difficult it was to read and learn this piece! But she did it great anyway!

    Best wishes!

  • I love it when she smiles as she amuses herself by playing the 2:45 beautiful and unpredictable chord perfectly.

  • where can I buy her cd? I googled her name, can't find anything.. I'm going to go to her site.. Simply beautiful, and if she could read this, I don't think she would waste her time because she is obviously busy with more important tasks like making timeless music

  • Beautiful and very fantastic......

  • How can someone on its perfect mind, watch this and click the dislike button????

  • @Inblut i tell you the ones who listen with the eyes.

  • Hi Ioana , I like your playing a lot, your interpretation of this work is a 10 out of 10! What you need to work on is your right hand, your fingers nearly pick in the direction of the strings, when they should be at right angles to the strings.and your thumb should be straight and move only at the base knuckle. What you will get with this technique is an effortless power not a powerless effort!

  • @31041955 I think she's got it dude... Oh, and she's blind. Maybe you should send her a telegram. I'm just saying.

  • @31041955 no its not necessarly to keep the fingers at right angles . the way she keeps them is very good , because you get a much warmer sound , if you play like that.

  • Thank you Ioana for allowing us to see your soul through your music!. Your wonderful technique is fully in service of your art. I love the colors of sounds and the accents you put on each sentence. With them the piece flows like a poem that caresses our minds. Very expressive!.

Thank you Loana for allowing us to see your soul through your music!.

  • A wonderful music, played by a wonderful woman. So inspiring...

  • Sencillamente ...MARAVILLOSO.

  • Just one guitar and she is one of the best I have ever heard in my lifetime

  • there is nothing sad, IMO, Ioana is a gift from God, and one of the best guitarists in the world. My friend Scott and I sat stunned listening to this piece, which i first heard by another player on pandora.com . Amazing

  • That's amazing! For anyone who can't see and play such chords has magnificant talent! Same thing if one wasn't to hear, especially, and be so musically enclined.

  • So good!

  • I have never seen such skillful, beautiful and artistic playing. Even her technique is a wonder. An inspiration.

  • that guitar is also not the only instrument playing? please correct me if I'm wrong

  • @rabbitcanfly

im pretty sure its only the guitar

  • @rabbitcanfly of course its only 1 guitar

  • @rabbitcanfly On this instrument, a skillful player will bring out all the "voices" - the melody, the bass, and the accompaniment - so that it sounds like 3 guitars playing simultaneously.

Welcome to the world of classical guitar!

  • she doesn't look like she's enjoying herself much

  • saw sad

  • Magnificent Work

  • Bravo!

  • Esti minunata Ioana ! Corectezi notele cu inima ...

  • I think she's blind

  • no. I think YOU people are blind.

  • lol she looks like that cuz she's blind

  • It's so pure & unlike anything I'm accustomed to. Absolutely spiritual.

  • Great talent!

    5*

  • I'm in a childlike stupor everytime i listen to this piece. It never seems to fade.

  • This is absolutely unbelievable. Amazingly clean, great tone, very nice musicality, beautiful technique. She is a true gift for us from GOD.

  • she is blind?

    ou ta só curtindo mesmo?

  • Don't give god sole credit for her skills, I'm sure she has worked hard for them!

  • 5 stars fantastic

  • Great technical skills!

  • very nice goooooooooooood

  • Extremamente linda!!!!!!

  • great work. tough to be blind, but she was blessed with long graceful fingers. I so wish I could play guitar, but I doubt my short fingers could do much. :)

  • very skillful and talented lady!

  • so beautiful. I am speachess. she is a gift from God.

  • Why always put god when someone makes something beautiful ?

  • Maravilloso, realmente extraordinario. Parce que tocara un ángel. SAludos desde VAlparaíso, Chile.

  • Molto bello/Très beau/Very beautiful!

Même si cette fille est auveugle, elle fait de choses extraordinaires.

Ca veut dire que lorsque on veut ,on peut faire n'importe quelle chose,s'y a la volontè.

  • Great piece performed by a great performer!

  • Le tremolo est de toute beauté,joué a la perfection

  • Very well done. Thank you.

  • She is indeed beautiful. Unfortuneatly she can´t see her own beauty in the mirror. But she can feel her own soul playing the guitar. That´s the most important thing.

  • @SteauaBucuresti

Dude please, just because she is playing guitar doesn't make her beautiful. Now, don't get me wrong I'd tap that, but still she seems bland in that lifeless Russian/Balkan'esque kind of way.

  • @dohertm2 it's not that she's just playing guitar that makes her beautiful, it's how she presents it. If you listen instead of look, anyone who could play such music is beautiful in my opinion.

  • @SteauaBucuresti The saddest thing of all... (or well why not the best, who knows) is that she can't even read what you and me are writing here unless someone reads it out loud for her. She'd see how many ppl like what she does.

  • Shes kinda hot

  • Want hear you infinitly.

  • Wonderful....

  • Impresionante! Sin palabras! Beautiful!

  • c'est magnifique ... ça me laisse rêveur ...

  • foarte frumos..

  • This superb interpretation equals the one of Leif Christiensen in its purity and fidelilty to the original score.( something very inusual in the guitar field...) Bravo Ioana!! Here is an amazing artist palying the great Regondi!..

  • Holy Shit! I need a CD of this lady!

  • skvělý

  • Mimo swojego kalectwa opanowała Pani instrument perfekcyjnie.

not only the technique, but also the interpretation and the sound: very well made; it is a pleasure to hear you

She is one of the Top Players of all time!

  • wow. how'd she start learning? i'm very much interested! :D

  • me enamoré de esta muchacha en cuanto empezó el trémulo. Que belleza de interpretación.

  • Is she blind?

  • yes

  • "Canadian-Romanian born blind guitarist Ioana Gandrabur plays Rêverie by Giulio Regondi (1822-1872). Recorded in Montreal 03.04.07. Unedited performance."

    - the Description box

    [Reading is an amazing thing]

  • she was born blind but this doesn;t really matter. She knows how to play the piano also and she can speak 6 languages. I think she is very talented.

For those who gave you poor comment, I think it's stupid because the man just wanted to know. It's not a bad thing asking questions.

  • Fabulous. Loved it very much.

  • Absolutely touching!!!It would be a great pleasure to be subscribed by you!!

  • I love her sensibility

    Kelvin Borrero

  • Im romanain

  • Bravo, complimenti

  • when is she coming to mexico????!!! monterrey city!!!!!!! please anyone who knows please tell me!!!

  • Eres la mejor Ioana, estás al nivel de David Russell sino es que eres mucho mas talentosa.

  • The angel's sound!

  • Bellisima mujer, asi como su interpretacion! como me gustaria que pudiera leer todos estos comentarios... BRAVO!!!

  • This piece is one of the most beautiful and expressive pieces in the guitar repertoire, incredibly difficult too.. She plays it very well, her technique is great!

    Brad Conroy

  • whoever is a critic of this or any of her pieces you are completely wrong... i am an obsessive classical guitar listener and her technique is perfect she doesn't add her own interpretation especially to her bach pieces i think she plays the pieces as they were written and intended to be played which is exactly how they should be played

  • eccellente

  • penso che al diploma porterò il Notturno

  • beautiful fantastic player what more can be said.

  • i hear lots of emotion you critics are deaf she is playing truly with in herself

  • I really love how her body hardly moves. It really allows the music to have all the attention. Great song!

  • Ca intr-un vis! Ioana esti deja o artista si sunt deosebit de bucuros ca te-am descoperit! Sper sa continui si pe mai departe cu aceeasi pasiune si dedicatie!

    Liviu

  • wow:D grat!

  • This chick is off the hook. (That's a good thing) x

  • I'd give my right arm to play this piece as "unemotional" as others claim. She might use a bit more rubato in certan places, but that's a temptation for our misunderstanding of early and mid-Romanticism. She plays the piece as Regondi himself might have, given his cultural proximity to Classicism. She avoids a kitsch sentimentality that often accompanies modrn evocations of the Romantic. I play this piece, and I've learned from her performance. Her blindness is simply beside the point. Brava!

  • What an exquisite touch this girl has. It is emotionally a little restrained but equally it has a great elegance, and it's nice to hear no forced notes, or brashness. Imagine learning this and other pieces with no visual reference to go on. Thanks for posting it.

  • 5 Stars for this CUB. Technique, hand placement, picking is excellent. She rivals Ana the Croatian Cub.

  • Mind blowing

  • Unfreaking real

  • Ioana fans - there's a NEW clip of her in concert playing Giuliani's variations on a theme of Handel. Just type in "tgwilt" and click onto the video.

  • Bravo Ioana! Comme toujours!

  • amazing to do all this by touch alone.

  • DadsDaBossa - Yes, I agree her playing is emotionally reserved, but this piece also goes under the title of 'Nocturne', so maybe it's not too bad that she hasn't made it so lush.

If you prefer, you might want to enjoy the full richness of Gaelle Solal's excellent performance.

By comparison, Ioana's playing here has a more subtle, delicate flavour to it. Like Jasmine tea, that is something I never get tired of.

I guess it all depends on one's tastes.

4 and a half stars from me.

  • DUDE SHE"S BLIND! i give her 5 stars just because she can even play the guitar better than I can without even seeing. Bless her she's awesome and inspiring

  • Very interesting. It is the same.

  • there are no angles in heaven, everything is straight.

    i think you mean angel

  • I'm Speechless! Bravo!

  • Impressive, most impressive.

  • That is one lucky guitar.

    Awesome music.

    Chocolate for the ears.

  • She owns this one.

  • Perfection and played with so much of heart....

cant have enough of it ...

    Love.

    Praveen.

  • Shades of Villa-Lobos around 1:50. Wouldn't it be great if she posted something from VL on YouTube. I'd bet London to a brick it would sound delightfully different to the usual renditions our jaded eardrums have become accustomed to. Especially if she chose something from the Suite Populaire Brasilenne.

  • what problems do you have with typical interpretations of that suite? I find among the recordings of those pieces a very wide range of interpretative approaches, from Julian Bream's flamboyant, hit-or-miss expressiveness to Barrueco's extreme reserve, to Kraft's... attempts. I agree, it would be great to hear her play some of that stuff, though.

  • VTguitar88 - I was really referring to the general repertoire of Villa-Lobos, esp. the Preludes and, say, Choros no.1. It's just that works from the SPB were personal favourites from my playing days, the introspective nature of Valse- and Gavotte-Choro making them, I feel, most compatible with Ioana's personality. Intrigued as to how she'd arpeggiate these pieces (how she 'weights' the arpeggios in the home stretch to the Prelude Bach BWV 997 is to die for). And she would 'own' VL Prelude no. 5!

  • I keep asking myself why I enjoy listening so much to Ioana's playing. One reason: she doesn't need to rush any notes or phrases (like many other players do) in order to "make a point". Every note she plays is treated just as importantly as any other, and she does this WITHOUT sacrificing musicality. This helps to make Ioana more than just a guitarist - she is an Artist.

  • but plays beta than i can imagine

  • ok shes blind i didnt knw , sorry

  • This is a musical score you goose. It is not a porno site. This girl is a wonderful musician and from her music she demonstrates a beauty that few can match. But you, we all know that you are ugly!

    DK

  • alright busta i wasnt downin her guitar exquisites. g read the comments thorough, u r dirty

  • hahahahahahah

  • cirusflex - In this video, Ioana's hair is a little out of place, and therefore doesn't show her at her best. You might want to check out her other videos, to reconsider. In my opinion, she is, without doubt, beautiful.

  • do you judge people by the way they look?

that is not right my friend!

    noone is ugly

    :-)

  • I disagree, she is a lovely and beautifull eastern european girl :D

  • you just made my day

  • his piece is dificult as fucking hell, she played it fluent and nice
