I- Triste plaisir et douloureuse joye,

    Aspre doulceur, desconfort ennuieux,

    III- C'est mon trésor, ma part et ma monoyé ;

  • Who are the musicians ?

    (perhaps memmelsdorf on recorder?)

  • @AlainNaigeon They should be:

    Anne-Marie Lablaude (soprano)

    Dominique Vellard (lute)

    Pierre Hamon (recorder)

from the Ensemble Gilles Binchois' recording on Virgin Veritas

  • @VoceCorale Thank you !

  • The voice is all wrong (no pain in sight). but pretty it is. Thanks for posting.

  • Sometimes beauty and pain go hand in hand

  • @reinpost what did you mean that the voice is all wrong?

  • @nicodagger I mean that it doesn't sound very doloureuse to me, but what do I know about pain ...

  • @reinpost I think the emotions seem to be filtered through rationality, so that we don't end up with the same kind of incredibly overcoming emotions that we might get in Rachmaninov or Wagner. But, nonetheless, I think much of the expressiveness comes from the shape and harmonic implications ofthe melody.
