As far as I am concerned he is the very best true country music singer ever, I go back to the early 50's and there have been plenty of singer that I really enjoyed but Gene Watson 's voice and his music soothes my heart in places no other singer has ever reached. Next to George Jones, probably the greatest singer of country songs. At least in the top five, Jones, Haggard, Vern Gosdin, etc... This is country music. you can have your rascal flatts all day.

Would'nt it be nice to be able to turn on the country stations and here music like this. Steel guitars and fiddles don't exist anymore!!! The last great country MUSIC I have heard from a new artist was the Dixie Chicks. Everyone else belongs on pop stations.
