She definitely knows nothing about lymphatic drainage system, Please go study first. I recommend just take a look at Dr.Vodder's Manual lymph drainage. If she has more educations of what the MLD is, she will be so embarrassed to post this video.
umm she defn understands proximal to distal. the actual movement she's performing is distal to proximal but she's referring to the overall movement, starting the drainage proximal then moving more distal as you go. so you don't start working in the wrist before you work on the upper arm, etc.
You don't know proximal from distal. Study your anatomy. You state that the therapist should work from proximal to distal (which is in opposition to lympatic drainage) but correctly demonstrate working from distal to proximal.
Thanks for posting this. My wife had facial surgery about ten days ago and was looking kind of puffy in the face. I did this massage procedure for her and she loved it. You don't say how long to do this, but I'm thinking 20 minutes at a time for about three times a day. Thank you so much!
When u'r doing lymphatic it doesnt feel like anything is happening, but the next day when the lymphedema is done its unbelievable, RMT's are the real deal, Osteo's use their Treatments, Physios, Chiros, they've advanced a lot. Still the greatest respect to the other Health professions like Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Ostopathy. Together they make great rehabilitation clinics
Is it medically proven that what she (or any lymphatic massage therapist) is doing actually drains the lymph nodes? Some times I wonder if massage therapy is "real" or just something that feels good.
you need to do some research buddy because right now you must not know anything about the lymph system; clearly as this massage is overall very affective.
Your voice is very clear helping views to understand the message better thank you for that and the camra was zoomed perfectly so we could see what you were doing! This film was very helpful.
It seems like you are trying to pump or massage this fluid toward the location of the nodes. I suppose it's like sweeping puddled water off the sidewalk after a rain, Only it is a sponge sidewalk, and you sort of encourage it to flow and move.
I am curious as to where you were trained. I am a licensed massage therapist who is certified in manual lymphatic drainage, and the technique you are using is not what is taught (Dr. Vodder is the standard). By gliding over the skin, you are not engaging the filaments in the lymph capillaries, which open the flaps to take in the interstitial fluid.
That is correct, it is much too light. Sadly though this is the way they are training people now days. Apparently they think that they real way was too harsh on the client. Seems they would rather do a day spa treatment and get money off the client instead of a real treatment that the client will get some benefit from.
we were shown a "old outdated and non effective" way that was much harder and stuff. Then we were pretty much told it was shit house and just do it this way. I dunno it all seems to get the same results for me!
did you have to return the corpse after this video?

Sorry to see you have been taught the wrong way. Seems people prefer to take money from clients instead of giving them an effective treatment.

i dunno. It works very affectivly for me. i press slightly harder than in this vid and get good results.
