  • Oh my goodness.... absolutely awesome... Two thumbs waaaay-up for your passion and work.... I too grew up watching "Lost in Space" .. What a great show to watch as a kid... I still watch it on Hulu ..... Merry Christmas and Happy New Year... LM

  • Incredible. Almost certainly better, and better-maintained, than the orig. when it (he?) was built for the show. Excellent sound quality, underlain by a supporting but non-intrusive musical score. Q: are you married, and if so how did you prevent the female from fleeing as soon as she saw this ultimate man-child project in the works? :-)

  • @50zcarsman - Thank you for the kind comment.

    To answer your question:

I am very lucky as my Wife grew up watching Lost in Space too, and when i started building the robot i had a lot of support & help from her.

My daughters & Father in Law also helped with making some of the parts too.

Plus my father in law made the 'Robot Workshop' for me to keep him in

My (& i am sure many many others) condolences go out to his family at this sad time.

  • What all that money for the robot and no lightning bolts out of the claws?

Seriously what a beautiful piece of fine craftsmanship. A great job.

  • Thank you, - i am in the process of making the claws spark etc - will be uploading a small video when completed - Happy New year to you

  • can its arms extend like the one on the tv show? they dropped out and accordion extended

  • yes the arms extend retract and the claws open and close also - all by Radio control

  • At 3:23 the arms extend on this video,

i haven't devised a system yet for the arms to wave like he did in the tv show!

  • everyone must have their gods. mine can be old radios at times

  • This is the Mac Daddy of all Robots. 'Robot' had it all. No other robots can hold a candle to him. You are on lucky dawg to have him. Keep it coming...

  • I would love one of these!!

  • Talk about living your fantasy, super cool.

  • I want one of these!

  • Be fun to have it wreck havoc, perhaps at a peace rally against the cops.

  • how much would it run to have one of these built?

  • I've read that the replicas cost slightly more than $25,000. Neat though.

  • Loved him as a kid...and still do..Keep up the wonderful work!

  • Are those robots for sale somewhere?

  • Awesome!

  • Very cool INDEED! If only his claws could generate an electricity bolt from claw to claw......now THAT would be REALLY COOL!

  • hes HOT X)

  • hes HOT X)

  • Paul, this is incredible!

    The nicest I have scene!

He's my favorite Robot of all time.

  • A priceless work of art. Sounds like the lines were ripped from the series..or did Tufeld re-record them for B9 collectors?

  • thanks for the kind comments yes we at the B9 builders club were able to get Mr Tufeld to make custom phrases plus we have available a set of CD's with most phrases from the TV series. - It rally makes the Robot look and sound just like the original Thanks again ..Paul

  • He's awesome. How I wished for the real thing as a kid.

Can the lights on his lower torso be random instead of doing the sequential chase? I believe they were always random in the show.

  • Thanks for the comment - yes the lights can have up to 15 different patterns including the ones in the brain of the robot. I chose the chasing effect.

  • Wow!

  • The ill-begotten love child of R2D2 and C3P0?

  • Only if they had a time machine.

  • It would be great add another phrases at the end of the video for instance: the famous "Terminator motto "hasta la vista, baby" or..."I´ll be back!"...what do you thing??

    Congratulations once again!!

    Regards from Mexico City!

  • COOL!!!!...Wonderfull job Paul!!!!...CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
