Hi... I actually used my own personal hotkeys to perform those cuts... that's why you don't see me clicking on anything. But to perform that operation manually, just select the edges that are perpendicular to the cut you want to make, then under "Edit Edge" at the right, click on "Connect". You can change how you want the connection to be if you click on the option box next to "Connect". Hopefully that helps you out some. :o) Thanks for viewing.
At 0:46 you selected one edge and all of a sudden all edges are selected . if this video is called for BEGINNERS than you should explain everything that you do, so how did you do that thing at 0:46 ???
it's called a LOOP selection. In the video though, I used my own hotkey to do it. But to do a LOOP selection, you select an edge, then click on LOOP at the right under the selection drop down list (it's the top most one). This is a "demonstration" and not a "tutorial" for beginners. Thanks for viewing!!
At 3:39 how does he make a new poligon.I have the newest version of 3ds and can't find out how to do it.

This is good if u want to do a low-ploty object.
If you want to do realistic model you can do this with one Spline and the lathe modifier :D
