Dragonforce and Power Quest sounds similar because Steve Williams and Steve Scott the keyboardist and Bass players left Dragonforce to create Power Quest. For Wings of Forever and Neverworld Sam Totman was the Guitarist for Power Quest after which he left to focus on Dragonforce. That is why they both sound similar.

How are DragonForce and PowerQuest similar!? They have fantasy lyrics, yer, but the sound of their music is very different. I personally think that PowerQuest is far better than DragonForce.

Power Quest's 1st CD sounds almost exactly like Dragonforce, and even their 2nd and 3rd CDs have a slightly similar sound. The only real difference is that PQ is a little slower, their guitar and synth sounds are different, and obviously they had a different singer. But their song writing and guitar solos have (or had) a lot in common.

I also like Power Quest more, but not by much. It just depends on what type of music you like. PQ has more keyboard melodies. DF is all about the guitars. PQ likes to mix up fast and slow tempos. DF is mostly just non-stop intensity. For example, the end of "Lost Souls in Endless Time" is probably more epic than any of Power Quest's music, but like I said, I still think PQ is a little better overall.

You have to admit that DF is pretty catchy though.
