What I love about Burbs other than the fact that it's really funny is that it has some really good scenes that aren't scary but have a great spooky mood. I think my favorite scene is when Ray, Art and Ricky walk down the street and Art tells them the story about the house with the strange smell.

This has to be one of the best family movies ever made. The story is rather simple but the interaction between the characters is what makes this movie. Tom Hanks and his chubby side-kick, who doesn't hesitate to pop around univited at breakfast time and help himself to items such as pineapples from the fridge, make for a great double-act. The scene where the couples first meet the Klopecks is brilliant...."Sardines?"
