Hi Kathryn, I recently discovered encaustic painting, but am not familiar with the flow pen. Is this someting you get at a craft store? Is is similar to a wood burner?
@pamrd121 The Flow Pen is not like a wood burner, however both would need a temperature regulator if intended to be used for encaustic techniques. The Flow Pen allows you to create lines and dots unlike other heated tools because of the reservoir.
@sandvdh the Flow Pen in the video is from our website. Kathryn is using a Wagner brand heat gun, which you can pick up at a hardware store. Pottery loops and metal shims work great for scraping. For detail work, metal picks work well. Thanks for watching!
