There was another movie, that came out around this time (I think), and I was hoping Heidi would lead me to it...the basic plot revolved around this tin/metal soldiers that rang the church bells every hour (on the hour), and they were going to be taken away, and this little girl, mother, and maybe her grandmother set out to stop it.

I swear I didn't make this movie up...does it ring bells for anyone?

@Carolarny1 Agreed, I knew of the story of Heidi as it is a classic, but had not seen this movie, or read the book. I am same age of the actress that played as Klara. That being said, are there further books in the series or not? Do Peter and Heidi grow up together, teenage stuff, and would they end up together, and so on? Does anyone know? Someone should script a sequel. Wonderful story and I think Disney did a good job in my opinion. It is so much better than any movies coming out now.

I remember when this was first on TV on Disney Channel and we taped it on a video, but the tape wasn't long enough and it cut off just as she found her grandfather, it's taken 15 years to find out what happened. Thank you. -- I cried, alot.

Lol I love how everyone cried. I did too and laughed sometimes at the same time. When I have kids I will show them movies like this and The Secret Garden and The Black Stallion, not the trash that is being made today. Absolutely wonderful movie!

I have cried and cried watching this movie throughout. Heidi's tears cut my heart into pieces I cant count. Thank you so much for this movie. I tried to find out the english version of Heidi (cartoon) but stumbled in this one and I truly enjoyed. Cheers to you to have such a beautiful taste.
