can anyone share their creative experience'(s)? i want to try this and enhance my creativity i seem to have a creative block up all the time as well as very very bad ADD thanks
dont take passion flower with this herb unless you want to explore pharmahuasca. and for those having problems with opiates, try valerian/hops/skullcap combo from vitamin world
@acidbath32 was you being serious if you take passion flower with mucuna then you'll make pharmahuasca, i don't tend to try it out i was just curious.
@ushilives3 yeah, but youd have to be careful since it does contain l dopa and 5 htp. its a mild pharmahuasca and you should be safe if you dont overdo either of them
Everyone taking Mucuna Pruriens should take it with a COMT inhibitor. A natural source of it is Green Tea; black tea works too, but to a lesser extent. This will help the dopamine cross the BBB. I have heard anecdotally that L-Tyrosine goes well with Mucuna.
I have issues with depression and had bad anxiety from it in 09. I started taking Cacao then and it's helped me alot. I also started taking St Johns Wort last year and I found that helps too, but I recently found out about this Mucuna stuff from D.Wolfe and I'm gonna give it a go. What does it taste like?
I take Mucuna daily, but as time has gone on, it doesn't really do anything for my mood anymore. However it really does boost my running performance, stamina, strength and lean muscle considerably. Do you recommend any other tonic herbs that are good for lean muscle/stamina etc but can actually take safely on a daily basis?
Hi, trying to understand all the info you are giving. I am amazed at some of your insight of people - depth of reading -zen-buddha etc. Want to try some herbs, like reishi, mucuna, holy basil-etc but, because I am in my 70's - with an enlarge prostate - I don't want to take anything that will aggravate the prostate, liver, kidney. Also don't know how to prepare these herbs for best results. Don't want just another pill. Saw your interview with nate. very interesting. Wonderful smile.
@herbgardner00 Hey I am only limited with my experience as far as herbs and how the body works. But I have been addicted to opiates and then I kicked it and somehow got myself addicted to Kratom. I have now kicked the Kratom. My question is that opiates and alkaloids work on opioid receptors, is there a natural high similar to this without the horrible withdrawal? Thanks.
I just bought some macuna seeds. I think I'm going to make my own alcohol extract. I can't wait to try it because I heard of how helps with anxiety and nervous system issues.
Thank you for this info! From my 3 days of taking it now, I have to agree that it definitely enhances mood and creativity. I, myself, have always had a moderate amount of social anxiety and I don't seem to be experiencing the adrenaline rush, or whatever it is you feel, nearly as much when faced with unfamiliar social surroundings. This herb would probably be great before a job interview, too.
@SecretsOfLongevity It doesn't have much of a direct effect on the immune system like many other "tonics", but I'd consider it an adaptogen. In Ayurveda it's among the top herbs since it doesn't have any negative effects and balances all three doshas (whereas even other rasayanas aren't perfectly balanced in that way). It also increases the bodies production of SOD and catalase, both important antioxidants that prevent genetic damage (and catalase can prevent gray hairs from forming).
@SCOTTDAVIDSON32 Well I naturally cycle all my herbs. There'd be no negative side effects to taking it daily, but it could very well not be as strong after long term use.

@HoFoShAo glad to hear that it is helping you out, balancing out dopamine and other neurotransmitters can really help with these kinds of issues.
