Due to popular perception (in the U.S.) of prunes being used only for relief of constipation, and being the subject of related distasteful joking, many of today's distributors have stopped using the word "prune" on packaging labels. Their preference is to state "dried plums".
Is it not PC to call dried plums "prunes" any more?!?! I really thought he was going to make beer-cheese soup for a minute there. Beer bread... it's kind of like making bread with... bread. Long live AB!!!
@andrewt248 It's probably to get people who *think* they hate prunes to give them a chance, I think we all know people who will only eat prunes if they can't see they're in there.
I'm straightedge, which means that I don't drink, but I love using bourbon in sweet desserts. The ending part of this episode got me a little concerned because I had always been told the myths about cooking with alchohol.
Also, what about people who have allergies, or are otherwise medically affected by alcohol? It's terrible for people with MS, for example. They could be making themselves sicker than they need to be, just because the "it'll cook off" myth keeps being perpetuated. =/ Thank you Alton for telling us the truth!
Thats what happens when you go on a fruit smothie diet that he did this spring and summer. I think when he started working on his first book on the show he saw that he has gained too much weight. So he went on a liquid diet. In a video posted about one of his workers he mentioned his new diet.
really? very interesting, i wonder why he'd think he would need to go on a diet. he's always looked very svelte. maybe it was a cholesterol thing, or something like that.
Hahaha, I watched the Asian spoof like 7 times.

Beer is nasty, go with Jaeger it much better man...

@archangelkaz - Apparently, you've never had good beer. It can be much more complex (and palatable) than Jäger.

@ptrlapp even if you absorb a little amount of alcohol, it won't be enough to notice nor conflict with your beliefs
