  • This is one of my favourite songs! It's very beautiful!

  • i discover late these fabulous artist, a voice of heaven!!!!

  • I always loved Mary's voice. I always wished she would record lots of the folk songs and hymns of our native Wales.

  • I always love Mary's voice, too. I hope she will record lots of folks and traditional beautiful songs also in English...

    Tommy

  • @ThatMinidotCom IM AN ENGLISHMAN BUT YOU CANT BEAT OUR OLD CELTIC AND BRITANIC TUNES, YOU CAN IMAGINE THATCHED ROOFS AND PIG PENS WHEN YOU HEAR THIS, REVEALS ANOTHER TIME. BEAUTIFUL.

  • I love her voice!!! = D Today's female singers over do it and sound the same!

  • Because of Mary's senses I have thought!

  • This is approximately my 10th favorite song on the Post Card CD. Almost every one of her songs on that CD are beautiful.

  • Really 10th?

I know CD Post Cards include same compilation among UK, US and Japan issues.

I have the original Post Card from Toshiba Music Industry in 1969, in which this song is selected B-side Top song!

I love this song and this Mary singing it.

You mean every song in Post Card is beautiful and to rank them is difficult?

    Thanks for your lovely comment.

    Regards,

    Tommy

She said,"I love this best among Donovan's songs..."

  • Thank you for posting this. I haven't heard her do this since the early '70's. I liked it then and moreso now. thank you.

  • Thanks for leaving a comment here.

I hear that this album "Post Card" (Apple No.5) was planned to release on the Valentine Day in 1969, however some troublings in the Apple Ltd. delayed the release date. This fantastic song was included in "Post Card" as a B-side top song.

In my country in 2005, Mary's "Post Card", "Earth Song/Ocean Song", and "Those Were The Days (Best of Mary Hopkin)" have been on sale in so-called in paper sleeve special issues from Toshiba-EMI international brand.

  • Gorgeous lyrics. A soft song that spins a pretty tale.

  • Yes. Very beautiful song.

I used to hear this song almost every day in my university days. We recorded LP to caccette tape and linstened this (whole Postcard songs) also in my car then.

    Tnank you for nice comment.

  • Lovely!

  • At 3:24- you can see the back of this CD sleeve, imitating the original vinyl LP. This postcard was written by Paul MacCartney. This song is at the B(2)-side, the first.

Beatiful song. Mary sings very nice.

Very recently a Japanese young artist Shione Yukawa (湯川潮音) covers this song a with duet version in her 2nd album named Colour Gray and Me (灰色と私). Gray means winter sky of England (Kent) where she took recordings the songs. It's too beatiful.

  • Thanks for the precious informations!

  • Well done Ku another wonderful tribute...
