  • You clearly need to do a lot more practicing, or possibly you are just rusty. I would suggest picking up a "Beginner's Guide to the Guitar" or something that will teach you the basics.

  • for the benefit of the guitar world you should really do a lesson on this... because this is by far the best cover of this song on Youtube.

  • just amazing....you are damn good:)

  • o cara toca muito

  • shiit this is best cover out for this tune! i have done a cover of this as well but u blow me away. nice job mate

  • VAMO AI GROSO HASTA AHORA SOS EL MEJOR DE YOU TUBE CREO... LOS DEMAS DE YOUTUBE SON UNOS GILEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!

  • OMFG... fucking awesome

  • i like watching people play this song

  • I can only imagine the euphoria that you feel when you play this perfectly all the way through.. EXCELLENT job, I'd swear it was Jimmy Page playing!

  • r u fingerpicking this? this is fantastic!

  • note-for-note zep live '75?!!! hell yeah!

best cover I've heard thus far~

  • This is amazing, You've successfully blown my mind. Would it be possible for a few instructional videos pretty please?

  • fantastic stuff i want to learn it is there any tab version¡

  • great......

  • fantastic stuff man

do you have tab or something i can learn it?

  • Wow! I have wanted to learn this song for years but thought it was way to hard to play and sing at the same time. My fingers cant think half as fast as you! amazing shit, i hope you have learned how to make a living out of such a great gift of talent. Keep rockin and i will try and not smash all my guitars after i watch it again and again.

  • Man it fantastic! I must get a tab! Please!

  • MAD SKILLS! Thanks.

  • Nice Job

  • Perfect man :) only 2:33 there is little different sound i think. Try hammering on "H" string (in normal tuning) instead E string you play. You are amazing!!!

  • any tabs?

  • which live version is this? HTWWW or Earls Courts?

  • i agree with dadgadsb, this is pretty god damn awesome guitar playing

  • Comment removed

  • Dude, is there anyway you can do a video lesson?

  • Usman you have some serious musical talent. You completely captured the improvisational aspects of Page's live performance. Can I ask how you learned this song? First you must have known it was in open G tuning and then did you just listen to it many times and/or watch videos to get the fingering?

The thing I find so interesting is your incredible timing and dexterity. It is one thing to learn a song from an album but to nail a live improv is pretty amazing.

  • @DADGADSB wow thank you so much!!

i love jimmy page. i learnt this from the live dvd the earls court performance. and also listening to snippets form the earlier earls court performances other than the recorded ones. they are in the menus, from the previous nights. and also 1972 "how the west was won performances" at LA forum. i read it was open G and then just sat and watched and listened to the performances. this was a really time ago though.... one of the first pieces i learnt.

  • So you are self taught and you learn songs you love and perfect them? You have such incredible technique it is amazing you learned this without any instruction and in such a short time. Great job. When you were learning the odd chord forms that move up and down the neck and you couldn't see Jimmy's fingers did you just experiment or did your musical background help you understand the chords Jimmy was going for?

  • @DADGADSB

hey bro i can make you a tab if you want, is not to hard to get a song by ear you know....

  • @DADGADSB hey bor i can get you a tab if you want, just dont forget to check out my cover of this song.

  • Since you reply to your comments you MUST tell me the chord you play at 00:38

  • I've been trying to learn this also.

    Tuning is Open G

    I think the fingering is

    5th fret - 3rd string (B) , 6th string (G)

    6th fret - 5th string (F)

    7th fret - 4th string (D)

Might by like a G7 chord? (GBDF) Notice that if barre the 5th fret you pick up that B note on the 3rd string and you get a nice G7 jazzy sound. For speed and convenience the 3rd string note might be omitted. I will have to watch the video again.

  • Now that was sick!

    Absolutely amazing...I need a guitarist!

    Jessica

  • you fucking nailed it

  • Whoaaaa... awesome (:

  • what tuning is this in?

  • jejejejje great.....a lot of feeling

  • Bron-Y-Aur Stomp (How its spelt on Led Zeppelin III) isn't the instrumental, that's Bron-Yr-Aur on physical Graphitti - on a positive note, you thrashed this piece

  • @openmonday nope. see led zeppelin the dvd. or how the west was won. its misspelled on Led zeppelin III. thank you

  • You're amazing

  • hey wahts the tuning you play this in? caus im trying to figure out what the correct one is. theres tabs for it claiming it's FAFCFC low to high, which i would use, if my strings didnt snap every time. and some people are saying it its in open D tuning with capo on the 3rd fret. i suppose it doesnt really matter what key its in as long as it sounds good, but im trying to play it the way Jimmy did god bless him.

  • @jeffgnr iv seen a few with CFCFAF low to high, i reckon you got the tuning backwards maybe? lol this song confuses me, i can play it DADF#AD with capo on 3rd fret but it doesnt sound quite right =/

  • lol yea i had it backwards. idk, ive never tried it with the capo, but i dont think the studio version is played that way? idk

  • i dunno either man, i have an official tab book and it says with a capo on 3rd but it doesnt sound like something jimmy page would do, just need to figure out the tuning and i would have this song down in a day lol

  • Try open G. That's what Jimmy played it in, live at least.

  • wow. amazing...

  • phenomenal job brotha....

  • it fucking blew my mind

    great job

  • u ARE jimmy page!!!

  • Nice!!!

But try in 2:34 not bended "E" string but "B" string, after that, its perfect!!

  • awesome!

  • Bravo

  • best version on youtube (besides jimmy)

  • great cover!

  • i dont suppose you have tabs or nething for this do you?

  • Best cover I've seen yet!

  • what is the tuning ????

  • FCAFCF i don't know the actual name of the tuning, you tune it so that you have F major without fretting...hope this will help.

  • That was really good! it wasn't verbatim but I don't care... still 5 stars!

  • This is absolutely fantastic.

  • can someone even tell me how to play the main riff?

in open g: i thought it was slide to 9th fret on D string, open B string, open G string, open B string. all that four times, then 7 fret on D string, den open D string

dont think its completely accurate tho :(

    help!

  • was that from the live earl courts performance?

  • AWESOME!!

  • Great job, tempo is a bit eratic, but on point.. job well done brother!!!

  • that was unbelievable

  • lesson

  • CFCFAC

  • what is the tuning?

  • CFCFAC

  • any chance for tab love this song u sound killer

  • it's pretty good, all notes are there, great technique,but....you need to work on you tempo, because you are changing it all the time,so it would hardly fit with drums, bass and singing...not trying to criticize, just giving advice...keep it up!

  • initial thought of your cover is a little nervousness (could be wrong) but it seems your going too fast through the notes. feel them like page does. sound crisp and clear thats good. keep up the good work. and always work on keeping it good.

  • oh my fucking god! thats all i have to say :o

    INCREDIBLE

  • sick man you are god.

  • hey, is this the usman that goes to emily gray in AZ and is now going into high school??

  • Two words: Hell yes.

  • dose any 1 no were to learn this from

  • the led zeppelin dvd

  • does neone know of a video lesson of this song? much appreciated

  • I need 1 to...

  • AMAZING. you sir are gifted.

  • nice man

  • dude are you chicken picking in this video? i cant tell

  • do you have the tabs for this? if not maybe you could post tabs or a lesson would be even better, you'd get an insane amount of views because there are no lessons for the live version on youtube and your arrangment is amazing!

  • u didit by ear?

  • AWESOME!

  • dude your better at this song than jimmy im sure he would even aggree ur the shit man

  • Amazing :)

  • I almost like it better than the original! Great job :D

  • amazing

  • verry nice duuudeee

  • perfect!!!!!

  • i want an MP3 of this version! its great! i've been singing this in my head instead of the real one

  • this is great

  • Could you make another video of this at a different angle so we can figure out some of the things you play?

  • genial

  • Awesome JOB man you're great ! do you use a thumb pick or just a normal one ???

  • matanhouse u cant say he performed it better than he did but probably as close as you can get i mean u can cover it but try to write it thats wat makes jimmy the best guitarist who ever lived

  • amazing. loved it

  • Super hard song to play. Honnorable mention :)

  • This is the best song and music from Led Zeppelin, and you performed this song better than Jimmy Page himself...you are the Guitar Legend!!!!!!

  • not a zeppelin song, like many others jimmy took it and made it his own....and rocked it out!! but didnt write it..

  • They wrote this song. And it is their own. They're the ones that made it, and i'm not sure what you mean by "like many others" because there's zero songs that Page, or any band member of led zeppelin, has taken from another artist. And unless you show some proof of this I suggest you don't reply to my comment.

  • wow , you know about as much about music as some of these teenagers, Let me start by saying this is a complete rip off, almost note for not by a song callers waggoners lad by bert jansch, likewise, black mountain side was "borrowed" by page from bert again of a song Black water side, waggoners lad was recorded 4 yrs prior to the release of this song. asshat!! learn your music history before you come at me, Led Zep is in my top 5 of all time, but they stole A LOT of the music

  • ha ha, this is such common knowledge when i made a search to give you a link , its already on YOUTUBE ha ha bet you feel really dumb now..

and go look up the dates, i dont have the time nor the energy to deal with someone as arrogant and wrong as you...and look up black water side too.. and look up nobodys fault but mine, by a blues artist name robert johnson, whom you obviously never heard, if you need more proof, dont email me back, because your are in denial...good day!

  • Still no proof. But nice little stories you've got. Try sending a few links next time if you want to prove me wrong. Otherwise like i said before, don't reply to my comment.

  • wow what do you want for proof, google it, the first link has both songs, recorded and came out 4 years prior to zeps release, you my friend are blinded by your love for the band. If someone records and releases the song 4 fucking years earlier, id say its his..... dumbass.. take proof and shove it up your ass

  • Somebody that is spouting lies would say things such as you. I enjoyed your little argument though, thanks for proving absolutely nothing to me and everybody that's been reading these comments. See you later you musical genuis.

  • Dude, sofaking you are sooooo wrong it's not even funny. They sampled a *LOT* of stuff from other artists. Babe I'm Gonna leave you, You Shook Me, White Summer/Black Mountainside, When the levee breaks, Gallow's Pole, and quite a few more. Now Zeppelin definitely made most of these songs their own and to say they completely "ripped them off" is a stretch but a good 10-20% of their songs are at least borrowed in some way from old blues artists and such. Google "Led Zeppelin Orginals"

  • so your point is that they shouldnt made all dose songs just bacause they were inspired in other ones?

  • Where the hell did I say they shouldn't have made any of those songs? Did you actually read the previous posts I replied to? Just because you like Led Zeppelin doesn't mean it's not true that they "borrowed" a lot from other Artists. Sofaking was in denial about it and I explained the truth to him. I still love Zeppelin an always will. Why do people get so bent out of shape if you say something that seems negative about a band they like, even though it's true. Would you rather I just lie?

  • well...dude sry if i offended u somehow...i just tought u were one of dose guys that think that artists are only dose who can make songs all by their own

  • not being a jerk, but, what did they borrow?

  • They never actually borrowed any songs, children just like to think they know more than what's actually happening.

  • Plant used lyrics from various blues Artists, one standout being "Never" by Moby Grape lyrics used in "Since I've been lovin you". Page sampled a lot of little riffs and sections in songs such as Moby Dick, Stairway (the intro), The Lemon Song has striking similarities to "Killing Floor by Howlin' Wolf", In my time of dying was done by many artists prior to Zepp (theirs is the best version though hands down), and of course Black Mountainside.

  • stairway intro was lightly inspired actually..don't remember the exact song, but Page put almost everything of his own stuff.btw I knew that many of the first songs (pieces) by Led Zeppelin are borrowed, like "Bring it on home" (Sonny Boy Williamson);"Dazed and confused" (the bass intro is completely stolen),"How many more times","I can't quit you baby"...but who cares?:D

  • You know your stuff! Dont forget also the 'borrow' from Small Faces Steve Marriott "You Need Lovin" written by... wait for it.... Willie Dixon.

Nonetheless Zep best group ever period.

  • Nope. You think they steal songs when in reality its more like riffs or little pieces of other songs. The "Truth" as you say it is something you don't want to admit as you just believing whatever you'd like.

  • I never said they steal songs, ever. Nice reading. I said they sampled, which means borrowing bits and pieces.

watch?v=TvtabNAb_wE - Jimmy Page was a fan of Bobby Parker and even tried signing him to Zepp's label. Moby Dick much? I could give two shits if they "stole" every single thing they wrote, I will always love Zeppelin. But you pretending that this just NEVER happened is asinine, that's just how the blues is. It doesn't detract from Led Zeppelin's genius at all.

  • The silence is deafening.

  • Lmao he took whitesummer, stairway to heaveb, blackmountain side..

  • what songd did he still it from?

  • well the song is all old folk and blues stuff, the arrangement is almost note for note of a song called waggoner's lad by bert jansch. Still page did a great job with it!

  • your right he did its amazing i would kill to be able to find a tab thats right for this song thats not cheesy All the tabs say you slide from 2 To the 4th frett and if you watch page play its hes playing down on the 7 or 9th frett im talking about the intro i

  • those are just power strokes, the first two strums before the picking..

  • Can you play this song?

because I have it tuned down in everything, and i still cant figure the song out, nothin sounds right too me..i dk...i just love that fast picking he does twangy country stuff...

  • I have a powertab version of what you are looking for. If you have powertab message me and i will send you a copy.

  • They show the studio version live is tune up a full step to open G instead of open F. I have not found any live versions of the tab.

  • Thanks Bro.........Saw it live in Seattle '77. Best part of the show !

  • sorry i meant lyrics are plant's music NOT pages!!!!

  • lyrics are page's but the music sadly like alot of pages was ripped off!! But he kicked so much ass its hard to hate him for it ha ha ha rock on nice cover!!!

  • Hi! great playing!!! Have you tab of this??

  • thank you very much. no i learnt it by ear

  • Your are very skilled, but you play far too fast.

  • same speed as jimmy page.....

  • i listened to the how the west was won 1972 version before playing this. that one is alot faster than the 1975 earls court version on the dvd. also i played this a very long time ago when i jsut started guitar. i know there are some mistakes in it

  • when will you make the how to video. you really should. i would absolutely love it!

  • you are tight

  • I see that you said E down to D and The A down To a G BUT!!!! Never mind i just read it out loud. I was going to say the High E is tuned down to D also. I am posting this comment anyways just incase there are more people like myself that dont read the fine print. Ha Ha

Great Job though My band RockShow Plays this song out alot and believe it or not it ALWAYS gets the best response. I love playing it. I am going to post a video response to this if you dont mind and subscribe to you.
