an interesting fusion of "african" dance style and bellydance?....It looks more African than bellydance, which makes the costuming look a little wrong to me. Like it doesn"t match up.....I don't see bellydance at all, but it is good "African" style dancing!
@surat108 Maybe they don't have an extravagant budget for costuming. I don't see it being an issue. The audience liked it and I doubt they were approached and criticized in person about their costuming.
@orangewitness Again, I thought the dancing was wonderful. It was very good & I enjoyed watching it. My critique on costuming was meant as constructive criticism, not negative. I feel that having the appropriate costuming can only enhance the wonderful choreography that they did...& they don't need an extravagant budget to do that. In fact they wouldn't need a "budget" at all, And, btw, bellydance costuming is way more expensive than what could be used for this African dance....
@surat108 I understand now. And it's true, Bellydance costuming would be more expensive most of the time than African dance costuming. I watched the video again and I thought the dancing looked cute with what they're wearing. But I can also see how some may feel there's a mismatch. I think they did Tribal Bellydance also, but I'm not sure. I think I remember getting some but not all of their performing on video.
