The original novels STALKER and Metro 2033 have had little influence other than the premise on such games as Fallout (the original Fallout) so nope. Fallout has an atmosphere equal to that of STALKER's too.

@elizabuzz how? the first Fallout came out before STALKER. plus the story is completely different. one (stalker) has to do with a accident at a power plant, the other (fallout) has to do with war over remaining oil that went nuclear. fallout ( original ) takes place in the year 2161. very much different. actually, the only things fallout has to do with stalker is that they both include the gauss gun or guass rifle ( fallout had it first ), and that they are both post apocalyptic.

clear sky is the best of them, have all of them, call of pripyat was too small story only took 12 hours on the highest difficulty. But the best is to play all of them. Shadow of chernobyl is the scariest, not that scary, but the scariest of them. It's the only stalker where you walk in "tunnels" under the ground... The worst enemy in the game most be the zombie that makes the camera go toward him an turn around...

One thing I didn't like about Call of Pripyat is that the game really lost it's foreboding and dark feeling, like Shadow of Chernobyl had. In the original game, the zone was a horrible place that mankind could only begin to understand, a place ready to unleash unspeakable horrors on the world.

Now in CoP, it's all happy feeling and stuff. I mean, (SPOILER ALERT) Strelok retires from the zone to be a consultant for a scientific research university. Come on.

@EdikShepherd Well, that is the ending of the game, made to give a sort of heroic sendoff to the current storyline set. The rest of the game retains the isolated feeling for the most part at least, but it did lose a lot of the fear aspect, unless you know where to look.
