There all good trucks & Ford is proven but it so Damn ugly & made with cheapy with a plastic interior. I think it comes down to down to personal preference.
totally agree with the titan remarks, i have a 2006 model, got under 16000 miles on it, love it, only 305 hp, lots of torque though, but the interior, yeah it is cheap looking, put a black piano wood look 3m dash kit and black dash cover on it, go on car domain if you want to see picks, it has mayo and cheese tires(vogues)on a truck, its different, i think im no37 on the nissan titan list, its blue, peace yall:)
I have both a 2010 GMC Sierra Denali 4x4 and an 08 Tundra CrewMax 4x4 and both are amazing trucks. But one more thing to add.... this whole Toyota being an import is still rather annoying since Toyota employs more americans than any other auto manufacturer and is the best selling Auto manufacturer which generates a lot more tax revenue for this country than the "big three" plus you cant be an import and be in NASCAR... its kind of a rule. again facts dont lie people.
The reason I know that the Tundra is more american than either Dodge or Ford is because i am head of sales for the southern US for a company that manufactures packaging and shipping solutions for EVERY auto manufacturing company and a vast majority of Ford and Dodge packaging and shipping solutions come out of Mexico...why is that? because all those parts are made in Mexico. Consumer Reports does THE BEST durability/ reliability testing around. Check it out. Facts don't lie.
I dont know why people have to talk badly about the Tundra, First off I find it funny that people keep labeling it as an import when its made here in America out of more american parts than Ford or Dodge (fact). If you still want to call it an import just because the HQ is in Japan then you all are missing the fact that FIAT which is an italian car company now owns all Dodge affiliates and is the only reason they are still here.
Im say this i choose these 3 trucks. They all have capability. American vehicles are now surpassing Oversea aka imports. We are now making quality vehicles every truck is amazing so stop fucking complaings sayn o ford is better o chevy is better and dodge is better just stop that shit at least be happy its better than a shitty toyota tundra
So does anyone notice how this is a car review OF a car review? That's pretty bad. I've always liked MotorWeek because they do their best to talk about every vehicles strongpoint instead of being biased and overblowing small things like Car and Driver or Road and Track. Both of the latter reviewers judge cars not based on their intended functions or their good points, but how they ride and look is often what makes a bread winner in their eyes.
I've worked for a car dealer for a long time and I've driven in a lot of bad wheather and I've never had both my back wheels on different serfaces at the same time. Maybe it's just me but i'd rather have a mechanical locker on the real diff. Ram forever! My Cummins has 480,000 on it. I also love how they just went with what everybody else has said about Ford instead of being honest.
@nathanial41 If you never had both back wheels on different surfaces then you haven't been driving on or in different situations. For me, been there done that and a locking rear end works great at any speed in my Isuzu. It got me out of a 7 degree ditch with ice, snow, mud and slush on one wheel, slick ice and pavement on the other. I didn't think i had a chance of getting out and fell in love with my truck when it dug in with no hesitation.
I've worked for a car dealer for a long time and I've driven in a lot of bad wheather and I've never had both my back wheels on different serfaces at the same time. Maybe it's just me but i'd rather have a mechanical locker on the real diff. Ram forever! My Cummins has 480,000 on it
@aloc001 Yeah, which is why everyone I know that has a Dodge around 2000 has had tranny work on it. And I know a guy with a Dodge hemi that blew up at 30,000 miles. Reliable alright...
I would rather drive a Smart Car or a Toyota Prius than a Ford and im a Dodge Driver. I owned a 2008 Mustang GT for a copule of months and i hated it and than dedcied i would rather drive a V6 Charger than a V8 Mustang, and the Charger was almost near as fast as the Mustang lol
I have already, not much difference then the 2010 GT's. Acceleration is a little better, but not much power after you hit 70 MPH. I'tll need alot of bolt-ons to be considered "fast"
@vinylcollector08 Well it is noticeably faster than a 2011 Camaro or 2011 Challenger. 0-60 in 4.3 seconds is bordering on Corvette times from just a few years ago. Its also considerably faster than the Camaro and Challenger in the 0-100 and 0-140mph sprints.
Its just lighter thats all. Speed isnt everything, the car also has to be well balanced and have a good performing suspension, which makes the Challenger the top handling car as well to be driven on road and track. I mean if the Challenger took off atleast 300 pounds, it will deff be alot faster than the Camaro and Mustang
@vinylcollector08 I dunno I'm not trying to start any shit with you or anything, But most of the comparisons I've read about the new Muscle cars, all say that the Mustang handles the best. And you are right alot of the Mustangs pro's are attributed to its lighter weight. But I do know the Challenger is the heaviest of new Muscle cars.
I love how people are so defensive about Chevy vs Dodge vs Ford. I am an ASE master certified tech with 12 years of experience and have worked at a ford dealer and a Chevy dealer. I would buy and drive any American truck. This isnt the 80's anymore. Honda's, Toyota's, and other foreign vehicles don't own the reliability stats anymore. Our technology has meet and surpassed over seas vehicles. Ford and Chevy have set huge records with the volt and fusion hybrid.
I own all three brands, Fords are the least reliable with horrible transmissions, GM trucks are pretty good but not good for off roading, Dodges last forever and have the most torque, our company buys mostly Dodges, stopped buying Fords because theyre fuckin k mart cheap trucks
@MPLSTORM Interesting. My family works for the state in the repair department (shop 6). We work with 100's of these trucks every year, from street-use to the forestry ones we use on more dirt roads, and I can say the exact opposite. We get the dodges coming into the shop probably 3:1 vs our GM's and Fords. I'm actually a Dodge fan, but you won't see me standing behind them in the reliability department compared to other brands lol. Can't comment on the 08+ models, as we work on 00's-07's
Very interesting my company works with thousands of companys across the midwest and manage a lot of fleet trucks, our Fords are the least reliable by far by almost 3:1, our GMs and Dodges hold up about the same. We stopped buying Fords because theyre horse shit trucks. But our GMs and Dodges have been stellar. That weird to hear about Dodges being in your shop, around Dodge is the only truck to drive! We have tough weather and conditions so you need a Dodge.
no i own all three brands of trucks...oh yeah and a POS Tundra. But over the last 15-20 years I've went through more transmissions in my Fords than my GMs and Dodges put together. and I own a lot more GMs and Dodges. all in all I will never buy another Ford truck again, our company stopped buying them in 2008, as well as a lot of other companies that we work with.
@ProAudioBill Love your comment, but it is just so hard to let go of the past when we the consumer have been treated so poorly by American dealerships. Are there good American car dealers? I am guessing sure, have i been treated well at most American car dealerships? no. Foreign car dealerships treat me like they want my business. American dealers r paying for the past and when you look at how much these trucks cost today, Americans should be treated like there buying a Mercedes Benz.
@bigphat200 I totally agree. It is time that our quality meets our customer service. I would love to see the big three step up and really take care of the people who really deserve the most attention, The American market. But the fact remains that dealerships are independently owned and its the luck of the draw sometimes. There are some really great B3 dealers out there. And a lot of bad ones too. For me it's about where the profit goes. I am proud of my country and want to see it survive.
@animeonperseest I find it difficult to debate quality with someone who cant type a sentence with punctuation or capitalization. Coil springs mean nothing to quality. Leaf springs do a fine job when properly engineered for the vehicle. Quality is based on fit, finish and reliability. Having catastrophic brake failure in a Toyota products is poor quality. The life cycle of an American engineered vehicle has doubled in the last 20 years. The big 3 adapted very well to a world market.
@ProAudioBill Oh shit i forgot that you had to type with formal style in youtube, sorry for that. The big three have adapted well to the american market, which has been greatly influenced by european and asian cars. American cars have practically no presens outside the US. But yeah American cars are finally getting better in terms of handling and cornering. I've driven the only ZR1 in finland and I loved it, in my mind, on par with my friends F430. The only thing lacking in
@ProAudioBill only thing lacking are the interiors, they still have huge panel gaps, are mostly cheap plastic and creak like shit. This is coming from a guy who drives an Audi A8 LW.
@animeonperseest Well, I cant agree more about the interiors of certain American vehicles having less than acceptable materials and design. But it is a bit of an apples to oranges argument. You cant compare a 90k Audi to a mid size American car. However, go drive a Cadillac CTS-V Sedan @54k base price. 556hp, great handling and a world class interior with enough change left to buy a Chevy Volt after the credit. Or a Lincoln MKZ Hybrid with 41mpg city. All 3 cars are leaders in there class.
Yea I agree I have a new silverado and the silverado and sierra pretty much the same thing together outsell ford dodge toyota and nissan and the ford lost like all the test's the silverado should have won. but the ford's are nice too
Thats cause Ford pays automotive reviewers like this one to make them look good, its all a scam basically and how i know this because alot of guides are biased and chooses there favorite over the other. The only way to know what the best is to test drive them themselves and im a Mopar guy by the way
@Jasshands1 Im in canada as well. And i can say the same, ford seems to own the roads, lol. Though its not uncommon to see dodges and Gms. I live in a logging town, so their are lots of people with trucks
@rangerover06sc yes cant blaim them i hated ford until i sat in a 2010 model and drove it...its a nice truck but i liek the dodges looks better....more sleeker and meaners looking
Jap trucks = most power with less liters better gas milage most important reliabilaty and resale value thats the only reason why i would buy a toyota nissian looks the best lifted and there v8 do the best peg leg burn outs fords v8 slow chevy interior is one of the best dodge i would never buy a dodge
Jap trucks get horrible gas mileage the shityest out of any truck and ford has the best fuel mileage and smallest engine in the test watch the video and learn something before you talk. And by the way i have a 2003 dodge ram hemi with 171,467 miles on it and get 21.3 mpg and have no problem smoking gas hoging nissans or toyota.
You never drove all of them i have and i can tell you iv seen the mpg gauge on the ram read 9.1mpg the worst iv seen in the tundra was 13 ford has the best mileage i belive the tundra does it had the first 6 speed in a truck wich lowers the rpm on the freeway better mpg and tundras v6 would beat f150v8 the jap v6 are so good americans cant beat them thats why dakota put a v8 in theres and there are way more toyotas at 200k on original motor the 22re is a million mile motor
Ive had dodge chevy and ford and ive never seen either won get below 14mpg i pull a trailer with mine and i average 16.9mpg.And for the jap range of pick ups i dont no who would wont a v6 pick up for hauling or even having one in a 5000lb pick up.And let me no when toyota puts a fully boxed frame on there pick ups.I no a guy thats got a 2008 tundra thats got a 5.7 and he cant get over 15mpg pretty damn sad dont yea think and for japs having better engines its crazy i can buy a cummins
My neighbor is a repo man and he has a 5.7 tundra avg 17 All im saying about the v6 not for hauling but its sad the dakota needs a v8 to keep up cuz there v6 are turds and so is there v8 is slow two but whats even more sad is i can get a 07 f150 for the price of a 05 4 cylinder tacoma talk about bad resale value you go ahead and buy a cummins have fun paying 4 dollars a gallon you keep your fully boxed frame is that the only thing toyota doesnt have now your going to say tundras tow hooks sux
I dont give a shit about tow hooks if i wont good ones ill go buy a ford super duty.I dont no were you live but diesel is 2.68 down here and a cummins will average 24mpg easy. But enough with all the bull shit do you no if toyota is still ganna build a 1ton pick up with the hino diesel in it.
lol gas hoging its a truck duma$s if you want good gas milage get a car and im sure your ram gets 100mpg lol the only trucks that get the kinda of milage our 4cylinder truck wich domestics dont even have im sure you put 0money into your dodge and runs like a champ lol let me know when you get to 250k miles
Wows ganna buy a work truck with a 4cylinder in it how stupid are you man.And i got 169,000 grand on mine i dont even no why im talken to you.You dont no shit about trucks.Go back to your 4banger cars 4bangerna10sec give me a break lmao your a joke punk enough said later bitch.
The Ram is the BEST in offroading. Period. Fuck ford.
Ram is the hardest working and can tow more than what the rating say. I put 3,000 lbs of sand and brick in the Bed of my 2004 1500 Hemi all the time. Dodge for life.
The Ram is a nice ride. I don't even see how they can compare the Ram with the rest of the American trucks. They're all cheaply built compared to the Dodge. It's more solid feeling than both the GMs and the Ford.
It's not an easy decision. The Dodge has my favorite engine sound, drive, and great looks. The Toyotai s very refined and offers the 504 hp supercharger option. The GMs have the excellent 6.2 and general engineering. Ford also has great engineering in the 09s and a great interior.
Come down to it, my choice would *probably* be a 2009 Ram Laramie 4X4.
do i have to repeat myself? Your bassicaly saying a shit car or truck is beating out something thats built nice? Regardless people would have more luck is they took care of their shit.
I'm just saying that Ford is in a bad spot right now and its because they have made poorly built vehicles and made poor economic decisions and now they are begging for a bailout.
Whether or not this truck is shit or not is subjective and time only may tell. Also, I'm just giving you a hard time for supporting a not-so-good brand. Thats all.
But regardless we have 5 Fords, all trucks, all run. Years from 1974-2002. I own a 1995 F150 and have the entire service record from the forest service. It was clean, when I bought it I replaced the clutch and slave cyclinder. Awesome truck, owned it for 2 years, still gets 14-15mpg in town, its got about 77,000miles on it. Honostly people just need to keep up on their servicing of vehicals and maybe they would break down less
There all good trucks & Ford is proven but it so Damn ugly & made with cheapy with a plastic interior. I think it comes down to down to personal preference.

Ive had dodge chevy and ford and ive never seen either won get below 14mpg i pull a trailer with mine and i average 16.9mpg.And for the jap range of pick ups i dont no who would wont a v6 pick up for hauling or even having one in a 5000lb pick up.And let me no when toyota puts a fully boxed frame on there pick ups.I no a guy thats got a 2008 tundra thats got a 5.7 and he cant get over 15mpg pretty damn sad dont yea think and for japs having better engines its crazy i can buy a cummins
larryadam2 2 years ago
My neighbor is a repo man and he has a 5.7 tundra avg 17 All im saying about the v6 not for hauling but its sad the dakota needs a v8 to keep up cuz there v6 are turds and so is there v8 is slow two but whats even more sad is i can get a 07 f150 for the price of a 05 4 cylinder tacoma talk about bad resale value you go ahead and buy a cummins have fun paying 4 dollars a gallon you keep your fully boxed frame is that the only thing toyota doesnt have now your going to say tundras tow hooks sux
4BangerNA10Sec 2 years ago
I dont give a shit about tow hooks if i wont good ones ill go buy a ford super duty.I dont no were you live but diesel is 2.68 down here and a cummins will average 24mpg easy. But enough with all the bull shit do you no if toyota is still ganna build a 1ton pick up with the hino diesel in it.
larryadam2 2 years ago
All i know is diesel cost more then regular it was between a big v8 or diesel they went with a big v8 they probably will still come out with a diesel

It's more solid feeling than both the GMs and the Ford.
scoopyex 2 years ago
That is very true. Fords, GMs, and the others drive more "Cheaply" than Dodges. Dodges last longer with little problems and have the most power.
MPLSTORM 2 years ago
It's not an easy decision. The Dodge has my favorite engine sound, drive, and great looks. The Toyotai s very refined and offers the 504 hp supercharger option. The GMs have the excellent 6.2 and general engineering. Ford also has great engineering in the 09s and a great interior.
Come down to it, my choice would *probably* be a 2009 Ram Laramie 4X4.

someone explain how ford can still have the reputation of being a bad company when they win numerous comparisons against rival competitors...
JonathanPAnderson 3 years ago
The Ram and F150 are definitely the nicest there. I'm a GM guy though, so I'd go with the GMC with the 6.2, that's a great engine.

yeah, thanks only to the bailout.
onejace 3 years ago
Ford is in better shape than Gm or Chrysler.
Plus the bailout didnt go through
FordManMT 3 years ago
They were still begging for money. And overall, Ford is know to be poorly built.
onejace 3 years ago
do i have to repeat myself? Your bassicaly saying a shit car or truck is beating out something thats built nice? Regardless people would have more luck is they took care of their shit.
FordManMT 3 years ago 2
I'm just saying that Ford is in a bad spot right now and its because they have made poorly built vehicles and made poor economic decisions and now they are begging for a bailout.
Whether or not this truck is shit or not is subjective and time only may tell. Also, I'm just giving you a hard time for supporting a not-so-good brand. Thats all.
onejace 3 years ago
lol nice.

Chryslers just did and Ford asked for $ yesterday
dudechillinathome 2 years ago
Dodge still makes the best trucks and always will.
MPLSTORM 2 years ago
agreed
dudechillinathome 2 years ago
ford was the only company that didn't need the bailout.... but fare is fare so they said if gm and chrysler are getting why shouldn't we?
JonathanPAnderson 3 years ago
They asked yesterday
