This is happening because you added U-Lock on the shaft. The additional weight shifts the center of mass to forward and Segway senses this as a forward input in which case it gets driven forward. You won't have this issue if the center of mass is balanced. I have very extensive experience with building Segway.
So you are a graduate of law school, and you use something as politically incorrect as "retarded" I am not that big of a PC police, but this is a little much.
That's a feature not a problem. It's designed so that if you fall it moves forward about 3feet and then lays down. Also, the i2 model has what's called "riderless balace mode" witch is easy to accomplish so read your Manuel.
Yeah, this isn't the Segway's fault. You've got quite an incline there and how is the machine supposed to know where the stairs are! The original Segway didn't have a virtual parking stand either, unless you're talking about the e167 which isn't really related to this at all :P
your retarded... neither the original segway or the i2 has a "virtual parking stand"... the original ones has a built-in parking stand. and the i2 has a stand that comes separate.

Problem is the closed loop feed back control is off, or not calibrated properly, adjust it. Problem solved.

Hi everyone,
I assure you the 10 ounce lock has nothing to do with it. The Segway does the exact same thing whether it's on or off.
I love my Segway -- I just thought this was amusing. :-)

its because you have the lock on the front stupid ass

He almost looks like he's going to let loose a tear, when the woman in the video says he's retarded, not the segway.

haha wat a retard... xD
santamon12 2 years ago
the reason for this is because you have a lock on the front of the i2 and that causes weight to move forward so it does not stay in one spot

One model of the original Segway indeed did have a "virtual parking stand."

this is not a problem...this is a feature, the auto-assist feature that it help you to lift segway on the stairs.
and the problem that it is viewed is BECAUSE, an LOCK is putted on the TOP of the Leansteer.
in any case, if the segway continues to make progress on 10m with nobody, he stops himself ... even a mode of assistance for the stairs.
