No any colour you choose with the colour picker when you select it like I did with the red initially. For instance if you picked a green colour when you follow the steps then it will be the green that will be the dominant colour, hope that helped.
you mean make a person colour and all the other part of the movie mono? If so you would probably have to roto scope the person which is very time consuming.
you said something about not being able to get your windows to pop-up...like "other' versions of sony. All you have to do is click and drag on those little dots on the upper right of the box and drag up...then the box will become detached ;)
Thanks for that, what I meant was that is the way I like to work and others like to have the boxes floating, but I wasnt sure if that was the default way in other versions. Thanks for the tip though.
I have sony vegas 9 platinum. I know that various people have said you cannot do this effect with a platinum product. However, we can use multiple fx boxes and we have both color correction and mask generator. The mask generator has an invert function. Can you compound the fxs and still acheive this?
I used V7 for this tut, but can be done with any version that has Secondary Colour Corrector.
It is a very simple solution however works very well, it is all how you tweek the settings it can be a lot better, my example just shows you the way you can do it simply.
It works alright if you have a bright colour on a dull background like in the clips you used but for making a red car stand out amongst blue cars at night dosent work.
Once i do it everything works, but then i play it and the box with the original colors is just sitting there in the middle while everything else is black and white. How can i get rid of this??
Nice tutorial ! big props to you :) works perfectly fine. And about the color corrector secondary. that effect is in Sony vegas 8, atleast the Pro version as far as I can tell, dont know how it will be in the less expansive versions. It should be there though.
Very helpful. Finally a tutorial that actually helped me do this effect. Many places had me 3 of the same video files in the timeline and it really slowed everything down. This was very helpful. I loved it. Keep up the helpful work here.
works best if you have a green screen, therefor you can isolate the selected model.

because thats illegal...and an extreme hazard for the computer since you can get viruses and other crap...

If you got a tutorial for importing Avi. files into Sony Vegas 7.0 I would really be happy.
I know pretty much all the effects and masking stuff, but I can't import the files that I want (Avi. and XVid)
Gjok1 4 years ago
Good question. I too am not able to edit avi files.
