  • works best if you have a green screen, therefor you can isolate the selected model.

  • does this only work with the colour red?

  • @klassie08

No any colour you choose with the colour picker when you select it like I did with the red initially. For instance if you picked a green colour when you follow the steps then it will be the green that will be the dominant colour, hope that helped.

  • @gregswinton oh ok thanks what if its like a person? how do u single a person out from a black and white backround

  • @klassie08

you mean make a person colour and all the other part of the movie mono? If so you would probably have to roto scope the person which is very time consuming.

  • It doesn't work on my pro 9.0, the colour corrector secondary doesn't show up on video FX.

  • you need to use a better cam

  • @Sticking361

Mate it was screen capture software not a cam!

  • I can't find the "Color Corrector Secondary" in Vegas 9. Would you kindly direct me on how to get that filter? Thanks in advance.

  • @dongman78 Color Corrector Secondary is in pro version only

  • thanks for the that very well done!

  • Heya! Well done on a sucessful vid =D

How do you get the effects on your logo by the way? (The RedSlik one)

    Thank you =]

  • Would it be possible to save more than one color? Like yellow, red and blue? Great tutorial!! thanks a lot!!

  • great tutorial.

    and thank you for it.

  • Cheers mate!

  • your computer is pretty slow....good tut though!!!

  • too much talk man and dont explain anything but thanx

  • you said something about not being able to get your windows to pop-up...like "other' versions of sony. All you have to do is click and drag on those little dots on the upper right of the box and drag up...then the box will become detached ;)

  • Thanks for that, what I meant was that is the way I like to work and others like to have the boxes floating, but I wasnt sure if that was the default way in other versions. Thanks for the tip though.

  • talk louder or get a better mic

  • i dont have invert mask button any suggestions?

  • I have sony vegas 9 platinum. I know that various people have said you cannot do this effect with a platinum product. However, we can use multiple fx boxes and we have both color correction and mask generator. The mask generator has an invert function. Can you compound the fxs and still acheive this?

  • how do i leave 2 colors?

  • whic version is this?

  • I used V7 for this tut, but can be done with any version that has Secondary Colour Corrector.

It is a very simple solution however works very well, it is all how you tweek the settings it can be a lot better, my example just shows you the way you can do it simply.

  • i i did it with the pro 9 version, is this platnium?

  • thanks No I can make it better then before :)

  • It works alright if you have a bright colour on a dull background like in the clips you used but for making a red car stand out amongst blue cars at night dosent work.

  • Once i do it everything works, but then i play it and the box with the original colors is just sitting there in the middle while everything else is black and white. How can i get rid of this??

  • very helpful, thanks :-)

  • Great job, very well done. I am also a member of the Redslik community...

  • Nice tutorial ! big props to you :) works perfectly fine. And about the color corrector secondary. that effect is in Sony vegas 8, atleast the Pro version as far as I can tell, dont know how it will be in the less expansive versions. It should be there though.

  • on vegas 8 i can't find the colour corrector :(the newer version seems to have taken more stuff off than new features on)

  • I am waiting for the delivery of Vegas 8, i will let you know when i find the solution!

  • you have to have pro. which is about $400

  • =.=" why don't you try downloading it instead of buying it.. ever thought of that?

  • because thats illegal...and an extreme hazard for the computer since you can get viruses and other crap...

  • Is it possible to do this in Vegas 8? Because the same stuff is not in 8. Does anyone know?

  • TBH I have not used Vegas 8 however I cant see why you shouldnt be able to, does it not have the same menue / features?

  • i found out what my problem was i have to be the upgrade version to do that stuff. I thought it would be in the average package

  • buy*

  • Very helpful. Finally a tutorial that actually helped me do this effect. Many places had me 3 of the same video files in the timeline and it really slowed everything down. This was very helpful. I loved it. Keep up the helpful work here.

  • Thanks alot for uploading this!

It made much more sense than the other stupid color corrector tutorials.

    Upload some more! ^_^

  • Thanks for the comment, I didnt think anyone liked it as I had no comments. is there any particular tutorial you would like for me to upload!

  • If you got a tutorial for importing Avi. files into Sony Vegas 7.0 I would really be happy.

I know pretty much all the effects and masking stuff, but I can't import the files that I want (Avi. and XVid)

  • Good question. I too am not able to edit avi files.

  • Sorry the audio is slightly out of sinc towards the end, but I am sure you get the drift!
