  • The debt when George W. Bush took office was $5.727 Trillion when he left it was $10.627 Trillion. The total debt that George W accumulated in eight years of office is $4.9 Trillion The debt right now is $13.736 Trillion. In approximately 666 days in office, he has accumulated $3.066 Trillion. Using simple algebra you'll find by Dec 2011, Obama will have accumulated more debt in three years than George W. did in 8 years.

  • Hillary Clinton is being preened to take President Maobama's place. Both Obama and Hilary answer to George Soros who contributed to both and who has the mainstream media in his back pocket. He gets Obama to take the Country to extreme socialism passing treasonous legislation against the will of the American people, then gets Hillary in office. Our dollar is on the verge of collapse, and our sovereignty is threatened as a direct result of legislation and lack of leadership.

  • Clinton didn't leave a $5.6 Trillion surplus but a $1.4 trillion debt over eight years. He borrowed from Social Security, part of a $115 Trillion unfunded liability, to make it seem he left a surplus. See my about me for links. The Debt Clock should be adjusted increasing the national debt from $14.0 to $21 Trillion and reducing our unfunded liabilities by $7 Trillion to reflect the truth about Clinton.

  • Speaking of Hillary, Senator James Inhofe's June 23, 1999 Senate Floor chinagate speech has been well hidden from the public for over 10 years now. Few Americans have ever read this speech. After reading this speech, one may ask, why was never a chinagate treason trial for both Clintons. Answer: Bill Clinton and the democrats made sure - - that all 113 Chinese agents and other witnesses..had fled the country. Google this speech by title: Clinton National Security Scandal and Coverup.

  • Memoirs of a Geisha got banned despite winning awards all over the world, including BAFTAs and Academy Awards. Gong Li now lives in Singapore and has been quoted as saying China will not allow free speech in film.

  • u talk so much shit....

  • Ang Lee got much bravado for his Academy Award nomination, but half the speech he gave was cut from broadcast because of its political overtones. The movie he was up for never got distribution in China either: only smuggled bootlegs of inferior quality were the only glimpse most saw as to why he won.

  • Gao Xingjian is in Europe for his mistake of being critical: all his plays are now banned because he mentioned Tiananmen. It is perverse: he won the Nobel Prize but not a single Chinese can see his plays except if they live in Taiwan or are on vacation in Japan.

  • Meanwhile, in China, Liu Xiabo rots in a cell for daring to question the Politburo. Yuan Hongbing is living as a political refugee in Australia for publishing a book. Chen Yonglin, a former diplomat, also resides in Australia for similar reasons. Shen Tong and Wang Dan are in America as asylees for their documentaries and writings. Ma Jian is in London for the same reasons.

  • Dear Mr. President by Pink flew off the shelves. Green Day's American Idiot became one of the most popular singles of the decade. The artwork in most NYC design schools by students lampooned the govt viciously and echoed what was on the minds of their counterparts in California, Boston, Florida, Virginia, and others.

  • Further, you underestimate the distinct disdain Bush and his entire party had the second term. The black community loathed him for Katrina. The body politic hated him for being an inept buffoon. The artistic community lampooned and publicly protested him: His last visit to the UN was swarming with Americans wanting his resignation and hundreds of NYC writers alone blogged up a storm, a giant smear campaign.

  • The definition of democracy is the ability to shout what you believe in opposition to what another does, and what the other will defend just as loudly. Artists are permitted to scream what they want in protest of the government and have done so for 235 years. Warhol protested Vietnam with a series of silk screens in '72. Disney used his studio to educate/entertain troops during WWII.

  • L.A, New York, and Chicago, & Miami are staffed 24/7 with armies of animators (3d and 2d,) cinematographers, painters, compositors, sfx, editors, writers, and arthouse directors. Last I checked, all vote, and all can choose whatever subject they want in whatever medium they choose. Very few are of the elite, but the masses, yes: Hype Williams for example was a grafitti artist before he made it big.

  • Roger Shimomura, Roy Lichtenstein, and by my count hundreds of others. Movie makers have names like Spielberg, Capra, Shyamalan, Tex Avery, Chuck Jones, Bob Zemeckis, Gus Van Sant, George Lucas, Spike Lee, Hype Williams, Amy Heckerling, Tyler Perry, Wayne Wang, Mike Nguyen, and might I add that (cont)

  • The masses you whine about also have dozens more artists than just Warhol: Basquiat, Margaret Bourke-White, Chuck Close, Annie Liebowitz, Henry Ossawa Tanner, Cindy Sherman, Man Ray, Jackson Pollock, Mary Cassatt, Bob Ochikubo, Kadir Nelson...contd

  • I am calculating from the time of Sun Yat Sen, the first break with imperial history, and the failure of those ideas. The majority you speak of just elected Barack Obama by one of the largest margins in history and Bush barely got the election both times on wafer thin numbers: check Gallup.

  • Furthermore, I meant that they escape to the West and tell us exactly what is going on at home: they are refugees. They witness firsthand what the PRC Army does to dissidents and those who fight back. Falun Gong practioners have a similar story. Anyone who practices a religion without the "approval" of the PRC govt tells the same story.

The anthem of the PRC is the Same Song: Should be the same old song....over and over....for 80 years.

  • wow, I admire ur persistance but I'd like to remind u that the PRC was funded almost 60 years ago I dont understand where ur numbers come from. O well I know what to expect, Americans are the most well read, undramatic people that elected their worthy leader Bush twice. Of course you will choose to believe wtever sounds the most fun despite the history and evidence proves otherwise

  • maybe I shouldnt generize about American since people like Andy Warhol and Disney do exist but they are only a minority. The majority would still elect Bush to destroy their economy

  • FREE TIBET

  • sure sure, go buy urself a map and draw it as u please

  • I'd say the same thing to the Chinese Politburo. The Uighurs were treated like garbage by the Han and the cops and they rebelled. Just like Tibet. They will never stop until they are free.

The tree of liberty must from time to time be watered with the blood of tyrants-Thomas Jefferson. (Man quoted at Tianenmen and now illegal.)

  • The PRC seems to have no problem doing that anyway....Chinese history shows the map being redrawn and drawn again according to the whim of the Emperor. If it weren't for the moral indignation of Japan, Korea, the US, and Australia, Taiwan would be done for by now.

  • I agree with you Jsetmefree in that Hillary (the human toilet) Clinton is back again and this is bad news for our country. She is now Sec. of State and I'm sure she just can't wait to meet more often with the Communist Chinese ie. Chinagate! Hillary and Bill Clinton's horrendous and treasonous Chinagate was disasterous for our country. Read for yourself -the historical/factual timeline of Hillary, Bill and Chinagate: Go to Alamo-girl dotcom / click 'High Treason' / click 'Timeline'

  • man if china didn't help us out we would have a riot over night. our whole economy would literally collapse. the thing is that we need to get back on our feet because china could only help us out for so much longer before they pull out to protect their own prosperity. things are going get ugly if we don't change the way we do business here in the states

  • how much of UNITED STATES have you given to the gooks you slimy corrupted hog?

  • I miss George W. Bush....

  • ellehooq, please, are you working for Dala Lama? who you care most, the jobless american with ppl starving or Dala Lama who is on the payroll of CIA?

  • imagine your in a poker game and your the only one who got money left on the table,, all the other players only got their pistols left. what do you think will happen eventually. be ready for war my friend

  • Hi dudes, do think about it, why we chinese have to buy your worthless treasuries, and we're going to buy more? And now you say you should raise tariffs?

  • Well, there are two reasons you'd buy Treasuries. 1) Out of compassion and love, or 2) Out of the idea that you can somehow cause harm to the American economy. But you didn't expect 3) The U.S. economy will actually not do well under this behavior, and the value of $USD will go down, and your investment will go down in the process. That is a reality we all have to deal with.

  • I think this "Hope" fad is thawing out to be something quite unpleasant.

  • she was on the board of walmart, excuse me.

  • Like Clinton has anything to say.. she was head of Walmart, and wants us all to be communist. She was too busy smuggling cocaine into the country through their airstrip in Mena, Arkansas.. google that.

Clinton is a traitor.. both are.

  • American politicians are always on one board or another

Or they use their relatives which is the case with Clinton and Bush families

Massive corruption up to the face

  • Barack Obama is a complete and utter useless failure just like George W. Bush. This"Stimulus"Bill doesn't do jack shit for hard working Americans like me.A 13 dollar a week"Tax Cut"?Thanks for NOTHING Obama.Every God Damn time he and that tax CHEAT Geithner speek the Stock exchange takes a shit.I can't believe i let myself be fooled into voting for this lying"Articulate"hack. He also LIED about ending the Iraq war,he also likes TORTURE by allowing RENDITION to continue. This change is BULLSHIT

  • Yea, but r the Chinese helping North Korea. We have 2 watch out for dem bastards because they r ready for something.

  • China has been helping the Americans financially. We didn't help the North Korea at all.

  • You are helping North Korea NOW supplying them with free oil and food

The deal with Russia is equally beneficial for both parties

  • China is not helping America financially. They are harming by predatory export practices and by stockpiling cash. However this will end soon, because China itself will begin to suffer along with America because of it. The value of the USD will go down and China's investment in stockpiling cash will begin to look like a silly mistake.

  • We will see. If Chinese leaders aren't stupid at all.

If China falls, What happens to U.S then....... ?

We will win and we will rule.

  • I'm not saying Chinese leaders are stupid or not. And I would have no problem with Chinese ruling anything so long as they are a moral and upstanding people. However, it is not enough to rule by power. Power corrupts and leads to rule only by force, not by moral agreement. If your goal is rule by "control" and "dismemberment" and "humiliation" then how are you any different from empires of the past?

  • so now you are saying Chinese are immoral and not unstanding? then how about the evil commies just through away ur bonds and let your banks all collapse over night? China is mothering and being patient with you and you still viciously hate her for not letting you being naughty all the way

  • No, you completely misinterpreted my comment. I said "I would have no problem with Chinese ruling anything so long as they are a moral and upstanding people." Period. Don't put a lot of other words in my mouth due to your own insecurities.

  • open ur eyes bro, the invasion in Iraq is illegal and they are pushing the war to parkistan provoking China, testing her limit constantly. u'd better have a fair standard before judging who is immoral here

  • I am happy to discuss any issue with you, but I don't follow the "your country did something bad therefore my country can do whatever it wants" nonsense. That is a fundamentally amoral and immoral argument. We are all responsible for pointing out problems that affect us, but not purely as a defensive comeback when we hear criticism ourselves. I am happy to discuss any country on any topic. Perhaps you would like to contact me privately.

  • No. We are not happy with China for declaring martial law on June 4, 1989 and murdering her own citizens at Tiananmen Square that even RUSSIA (a former enemy) teaches its children about. We are pissed they are taking advantage of the current generation because they'd have no memory of those events...or of a lone man getting mowed down by a tank.

  • too bad ur own national guard murdered ur own students in Kent and Jackson university when they were not even a threat and now ur government is waging illegal war again having ur citizens killed on a daily basis, but Im not "not happy" cuz Im not nosy enough to worry about the other countries' internal affairs maybe u can do the same?

  • It happened....nearly forty years ago. And my government made no attempt to hide it, plus it helped to stop the Vietnam Conflict as it fed the outrage. CHINA, on the other hand, has lied consistently to the people that Tiananmen ever happened. Kent State is studied in classrooms as a reminder of history, Tiananmen is shut up and those that talk about it are shutup/ away in jail. Just ask Bao Tong, under house arrest for 20 years.

  • for your information, the official middle school history text mentions June 4st incident calling it a tragety. The firewall does block information on it because brain washed hippies will keep trying to stir up similar incidents. You think US doesnt have political prisoner? how abt Lyndon LaRaunch? jailed for being a "lefty"?

  • Further, illegal wars: China invaded Tibet not to liberate them, that is for damned sure. The railroad built was not for the benefit of the Tibetans but for the hordes of Han Chinese: your government is taking a leaf out of Great Britain's old playbook and making plantations displacing the natives like they did in Ireland. (Look what happened in April 1916 to where this will eventually lead.)

  • oh and stop fuzzing abt Tibet already. The only time when Tibet was "independent" was when Britain invaded China, trying to find a Tibetan official to sign a colony treaty who fled to China proper so a nobody signed it. it doesn't even count!

  • Doesn't matter: one year ago there were huge riots there. By all indications, the Tibetans DO NOT WANT TO BE PART OF CHINA NOW AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS THAT ESCAPE TO THE WEST AND HAVING NICE LITTLE CHATS WITH STATE DEPARTMENTS IN THE EU AND US. THEY HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR FIFTY YEARS.

  • that's fine with me many people like to move around. As long as they dont try to kill people it's all cool. oh and Tibetan culture has existed within mainstream han for thousands of years, we share a common cultural root, lots of deities in religion and lots of dynasities together so there is little chance it will break away

  • Bullshit. That is like saying China has a claim to Vietnam because of forays made there in centuries past. Tibetans have the right to their own home. They are moving to the West to tell their tale, and one day they will come home...and it won't be pretty.

  • The pullout date from Iraq is October 2010 and there are investigations by the DA's office in DC into the activities of Bush and Cheney. Iraq currently is in charge of itself, up to and including Baghdad and Mosul.

  • oh I wouldnt hold my breath abt the pulout if I were u, I remember the date for that used to be "immediately...2 months...3months....."guess wt they r still there

  • It will come. Obama's career depends upon it....he wants a second term. Hu Jintao, by contrast, has had Uighurs uprise, factory workers, farmers, Tibetans, and has had the same response: nothing.

And he keeps getting back in office. And the Party continues to rule. Deng Xiaoping killed thousands of Chinese on June 4th by crushing them with an army. Mao murdered even more than Hitler or Stalin. Red is appropriate for a Chinese flag, huh?-Like blood.

  • There are consistent reports of worker unrest within China; the New York Times recently reported the beheading of an exec by his underlings. The Party usually blames local authorities for the corruption, but the frequency of these occurences suggest that the Politburo won't and never will stop the corruption from happening: they are too busy getting rich.

  • woo a person is killed! it's not even news in America anymore unless it reaches a certain number

  • There are also reports of dust storms off the Gobi affecting weather patterns in Beijing and Hong Kong, miles and miles away; weather experiments in California also detect dust and debris coming from across the sea. Satellite images from space show the rate of deforestation within China to be far exceeding the rate at which nature can replant them: the Gobi has grown larger since 1980 and shows no signs of stopping.

  • It is June 4th. There is no st. And btw, the reason why they were fighting is glossed over. It is the same reason why the second treatise on govt. by Locke is banned. Why Voltaire is not taught-just mentioned. Why the events of 1789-1799 in France barely get face time. Why Jefferson's words are either edited or banned. Why the film John Adams saw no distribution.

  • Let me add that it is wrong to think that this is some kind of game which one "side" must "win." Your attitude is outside of civilized cooperation. Let us hope your attitude is not the secret attitude of China's government. If it is, it will surely fail, since an attitude of arrogance and dominance will certainly lead to rebellion against you and hatred for you. If you intend to acquire leadership and power in a responsible way, however, I support you.

  • Your country has a 5,000 year history of men who only ruled through brute force: emperors. Rule by brutality only begets more brutality and instability. Ask your parents about the Great Leap Forward. Ask them how Mao stubbornly stuck to a Marxist economy while allowing the population to soar...and eventually starve. Ask yourself the real reason why Deng changed to a market economy ONLY after Mao was dead.

  • I'm amazed that the Soviets never figured out that America could be bought.

  • Because the Russian were pretty Stupid. Plus, they didn't have any money at all. Now Russia even in much worse situation than the U.S. Russia is so desperate for money therefore China has loaned 25 billion to them for oil. Russia will supply 3 billion tons of oil to China. China indeed is going to suck Russia dry.

  • cue the sniper fire. Hillary, you goddamn sellout. Obama should've kept Rice.

  • We have sold our soul to a communist enemy. In that deal, we now turn a blond eye ideals as the mighty dollar is more valuable for the lives of people who work in sweat shops.

  • You haven't really "sold your soul" yet. It really depends on China if they want to buy or not ;)

  • What no dodging sniper fire this time?

  • Please! She is a sell out. this is just a further continuation of failed Bush era foreign policy. The US, even under Obama, is under the thumb of the Chinese, who let's face it everybody knows are doing everything they can to destroy Tibetan culture. What has been happening in Tibet for the last 50 years is shameful! Human rights abuses should not be taking the back seat to economic/climate concerns. Hilary Clinton is no better than Bush. She should be ashamed of herself really.

  • Yes ellehooq, I noticed she didn't mention anything about human rights in her sit down with Chinese officials. I guess all that talk on her presidential campaign stump was the same old BULL.

  • Obama hired her for a reason you know. She's most likely following Obama's agenda. My point being, shouldn't be Obama a sell-out too? Who put Obama in power?

Democracy, A People's Choice (not all of them are right).

  • One child policy world wide! Please

  • Hillary is a hard workin lady. you can tell.

  • Yes lets put aside human rights LMAO.

  • ha ha its great to see how the U.S is willing to Kowotw to the Chinese. The Chinese own you in so many ways.

dont like it?? try invading China like you did Iraq and see what good that will do you? OWNED!!

  • don't talk to China with human right issues before you pay off the debt. That is it. The U.S has no bargaining chip on the table.

  • This video was pretty cool.

My friend told me to check it out and yeah I was worried it was going to be pretty lame, but hey I really enjoyed it

  • China isn't stupid. They'll stop buying our debt.

  • That's right Hillary keep kissing China's ass. Because if you don't they will not lend you any more money. Oh and they don't believe your stupid BS regarding climate change (formerly golbal warming)

  • F.cking Chinese stupid old timer officials US running dogs. Up to me, I wouldn't sterilize a single dime of the US dollars in T-bonds. LOL T-Bonds is an investment. It is propping up their consumption...consumption that the Chinese cannot enjoy by continuing inflating the RMB in dollar sterilization. These old timer CCP officials ought to be retired or executed for suppressing the Chinese for enjoy the fruits of their labor. Let the younger CCP patriots to take over China.

  • confidence in US bonds???? i am surprised that nobody laughed and the explanation is that there was no translation provided there.

  • DontHarmFalunDafa, I have notice your user name, you must be a member of the so-called falun religion, or at least a sopporter of that. that's really shamelessly you guys talking about human rights, you are not christian, you are an evil organization, your religion leader Li Hongzhi declare himself to be the new christ just for the sake of money and power, every chinese know you are greedy and crazy. so just save your words and trying to find a job. stop making troubles everywhere.

  • Thanks AP for the footage.

  • Thank you Hillary for opening my eyes to the hypocrisy of her and N.O.W. during the Lewinski scandal.

  • she did a good job.

  • this whole trip was about south korea i think maybe theirs more pressing matters than south korea i.e. the whole middle east

  • and to keep the money flowing can't leave that out

  • uhhhhhhhh uuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh LYEER

  • What the American public and the

Republican party are now realizing is that they should have chosen Ron Paul.

  • American public are still dooped into the Obama fad.

The republican party is full of crooks just like the democratic one.

  • Women are never satisfied with what a man needs. This is particular with monogamous women in the Western Hemisphere. eg., This is particularly why Muslim Men have more than one wife.

Women from India & Asia are taught very young how important it is to respect what a man needs and be satisfied giving it to him.

Women in the West primarily in the North America's and most definitely women in the USA are extremely confrontational, critical and are hung-up on demanding equality, respect & support.

  • Do you think this issues are to be overlooked just because there is a economic crisis? And US an China Regime should be the best of friends..come on

  • Hi DontHarmFalunDafa. I don't think that the issues should be at all overlooked. You are looking at two different plains, and there is a separation between the two which is growing wider - corrupted by the pursuit of consumption. If you are looking for what is 'right' you won't find it in relation to any of the world's governments - who are motivated by practicality. It would exist in a grass roots sense. True justice and fairness is not with us.

  • So your argument maggie is, oh well since U.S and China trade relationship has wrongdoing from both sides,

who are we to cast stones and say bad things about their murdering their people that have spiritual beliefs,

because the justice is not with us, but with migthy god so we should keep silent. Is that how think? if so,it is

an extremly warped view, at least at those fundamental questions human rigths issues we have to speak out , or else how can we say we are good people?

  • Sure political circles are prone to be driven by self interest but the point is, just because we know that, we shouln't stop asking them to be accountable. In Obama inauguration speach he pleged that his administration woulnd't tolerate such regimes like the comunist Chinese Party, but in face of financial leverage the (regime owns bilions of dollars of U.S debt) Clinton openly stated that human rigths wont be a subject of discordance between U.S and China. And that is why i say they sell out.

  • Hi DontHarmFalunDafa. "Selling Out". How do you 'sell out' what you don't in the first place have? The U.S.A. has compromised herself, as has other nations. Wickedness abounds in political circles not matter what so-called party - or non-party - they claim to belong to. Jesus taught "He that is without sin is to cast the first stone". All it amounts to is shaking a crooked finger at China in some lame attempt to chastise them.

  • One more thing DontHarmFalunDafa. You cannot promote violence on one hand in the promoting of abortion on demand and infantcide around the world then shake a crooked finger at China in being a monster in regards to being a fascist nation in any human rights violations. There are people around the world who see this wickedness clearly.

  • HI magie, seems by our quote you are a Christian , did you knew that the Chinese regime imprisions citizens and tortures them just for being Christians (as they persecute all religious believers )? Did you knew that the chinese citizens that accepted relief help from Christians after the sichuan earthquake were badly persecuted and punished for that? How does that make you fell you being a Christian ?

  • Hi DontHarmFalunDafa. Very observant of you - I am indeed a Christian. I'm not at all happy about - or would condone - Christian persecution. My comment was geared to your apparent suprise at the current U.S. Administration's "selling out' in some way. My point was to you that - and the Bible says that - you cannot get good fruit from a corrupt tree. So why would you accuse the Obama Admin. of supposedly "selling out"?

  • The current Administration is of a more liberal leaning. So is Secretary of State Clinton's assertions surprising - no. My point was not to throw rocks at anyone in particular but to point out that Jesus taught that he that is without sin cast the first one. It's simply pointing a crooked finger in a lame chastisment of them. Many governments around the world are compromised in relation to the 'global' economy. It is a money issue - which sometimes what is right fades in light of practicality.

  • Disgusting and sickening, the Obama team is selling out so soon to these comunist regime monsters that everyday murder their own people , so sickening that is , why on earth do they think has been undermining the western economy for the last 15 years.

  • Hillary is displaying "brown lips" diplomacy....China has us by the short hairs and we can thank the last 24 yrs!

  • down with the han zu chinese and white americans.. you wont be able to get out of this despression unless you use more renewable energy , and wuts going on now in terms of economic development only hurts both countries..

  • close but no cigar hillary.our goverment is pimping us out to china .whats next ?

  • WASHINGTON (AFP) Amnesty International and a pro-Tibet group voiced shock Friday after US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton vowed not to let human rights concerns hinder cooperation with China.

  • together WE?!

  • lmao...they suit eachother to a tea.

  • Like we have a choice

Number 1 China owns the United States.

Number 2 We just elected a communist as President..

  • if china stays with us, they both will sink

  • Whom your friends are say's a lot about yourself.

"Odd" how prior 09.11.2OO1 "better dead than red" was the most popular statement in the United States, and now it's "let's be Allies".

Guess even traitors to humanity need "friends".

  • And you need to check on getting some glasses...Cause you have to be nearly blind.

  • she has good facial features... you need to look at her images when bill clinton was president. i am 24 years old and i wouldnt refuse to be in a relationship with her!

  • MILF? ahahahaha!

  • She was hot when she was in college and still looks good. When anybody gets older, they look older...that's all!

  • that what i was saying too. she is hot..but got a bit older. She still looks hot in my opinion..she could pursue a modelling or porn career right now if she wanted

  • Bill Clinton disagrees.

  • Communism is the ideal result of socialism, which abolishes states, nations, religion, ownership of the means of production (and symbolic capital). China is not a communist nation.

  • But the U.S. may be becoming one shortly the way things are currently going. Be prepared for the new cultural revolution. Get your red books now...

  • U.S. is not coming the perfect ideal society, even if they were ruled by a single party dictatorship! You didn't understand anything! Communism doesn't HAVE parties or nations

  • So then "Communism" (being a political ideology) has never existed on the face of the planet because it's an impossible utopian ideal that has never been realized? Is that what you're saying?

  • I didn't say it is impossible, just that what you call communist is not communist at all. I think any political ideology is doable, it just requires political power. Communism is really interesting because communist politics entails changing the very meaning of politics and sharing power instead of possessing it like in all other capitalist ideologies.

  • But the requirement and exertion of political power implies a group applying force on the unwilling, and if the application of force is necessary to impose that force, then you must have a dictatorial state to organize that force.

  • So that's an inherent contradiction and demonstrates to be impossible to realistically attain - except perhaps in a very small group, but not globally as you suggest (since there would be no states or nations).

  • You're too quick to claim Communism is impossible. In fact, biased. Anarchists believe power is always coercive, but that's only true in Capitalism. Some power is deserved and granted voluntarily and through careful judgment. Communist power is based on direct democracy, where Capitalist deprivation of careful judgment and sharing of knowledge and status and other capitals is replaced with equal and universal right of veto where best ideas win political power. Marx said too ideology is false

  • Democracy leads to mob rule - the tyranny of the majority & enslavement of the minority.

"Democracy is two wolves & a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." -- Benjamin Franklin, 1759

"...[Democracy is a] political system calculated to make an intelligent minority subject to the will of the stupid." -- Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900)

The ability to own & provide for the protection of property is essential to maximizing liberty.

  • Communism implies lack of self-ownership and explicitly proposes no ownership of property. But that is essentially the definition of slavery.

  • Whoau!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE SOOOOO SMART!!!!

  • No he isn't. He denies sharing of power as a way to abolish ownership and at the same agree negotiate its use. That is essentially resorting to reduced slavery of freedom of the few.

  • This slapping with random opinions of a conversation about weather communism is dictatorship is over. In your isolation, try to think about even one claim I told you

  • You must mean my rational, educated, and well-formulated opinions - not at all random. And what exactly are your claims? That attempts to implement this utopian society known as Communism breed despotic rule, mass purges, and enslavement of the masses via "democracy"? Just look at the former Soviet Union (especially Stalin's era) and Mao's China. Those are some examples of your "claims" attempting to be brought into reality. To try to implement a Communist society, REQUIRES a dictator.

  • "...[Democracy is a] political system calculated to make an intelligent minority subject to the will of the stupid." -- Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900)

I like that one. Sums it up nicely.

  • And what exactly, in your opinion, does it summarize? Does it indicate to you that the individual rights of the minority are fully protected from the tyranny of the majority's will?

  • "Tyranny of the Majority" lol - that was how Tocqueville erringly characterized the American system in 1832.

No, it's more like a tyranny of minority interests (i.e. special interests) and acquiescence of the majority.

  • Yeah, but they do have gulags or policies telling me I can only have one baby (that is, unless I am wealthy and can BUY a son off my husband's mistress.) They do place an inordinate amount of power in the hands of a tiny amount of people with no true recourse to question that authority for the masses. Hu Jintao is a millionaire because the Politburo owns the Chinese government. Barack Obama is wealthy because of BOOK SALES. See a difference?

  • Like I wrote, China is not a Communist nation. Communist ideals please direct democracy the highest authority, that is true recource to question and lack of hierarchy what so ever. Communist was the original idea how to abolish hierarchy, that is based on economy. Marx didn't talk about direct democracy, but he implied that in his claim about ending ownership of economic capital. Bourdieu talked about symbolic capital and I claim Communism can treat that the same as economic capital.

  • Check the actual laws: only the market is liberalized. China is trying to avoid the same fate as the Soviet Union because the latter kept relying on Marx's economic models. Marx said that all property was to be owned by the government, everything from a rice field on up.

  • Marx also has one fatal flaw that is unforgivable: his entire system places far too much trust in the powers that be. He doesn't take into account human nature....and neither did the original army behind Mao (and the oligarchy in Beijing probably is happy that they own the media services so no competing ideas can reach the masses....

  • USSR collapsed due to something else than Marxist models. Rational economic policy doesn't collapse, be it Capitalist or Marxist. The fault were the things that stopped the model being applied. That's why even Capitalism can collapse - and should. The social fact of Capitalism is what Marx wanted to liberate the individual from. In USSR, too big army, tyrannical hierarchy, rejection of neoliberalist network and electronic communication caused the shit to collapse. Not Marxism.

  • The Soviet Union also stuck to market models based on Marx and Lenin: where the state owns everything. They owned the army and owned the means to produce the bombs. They told farmers what to plant, where, and how. They had electronic communication but did not want to risk "contamination" with the outside world (sounds like the OTHER Great Wall of China to me.)

  • Further, Democracy is not perfect, but it is the dominant force in nations around the world: Africa, the Americas, and Europe. Asia is one of the few remaining holdouts. Why do you think that is? Democracy is far older than anything Marx wrote and allows for COMPETING ideas, not just one idea, to be debated.

  • Dissent is needed to find consent. Standing up and arguing a point against somebody or a whole group of people for an ideal is worth much more than singing the same song. Harmony is easy if it is done just to avoid conflict or angering power. Freedom is harder, because it includes the ability to speak freely and debate ideas different to your own, even if that means getting up and telling somebody like Barack Obama to shut up or calling him an idiot with the whole Congress watching.

  • you're right it's not. It's a centralized, totalitarian oligarchy with power concentrated in the hands of literally a handful of men in Beijing.
