I don't know if they should fire wilson, but one thing i do know is that Reimer always smiles before and after games, even when he loses, which tells me he doesn't really care about winning. If anyone the Leafs fans should boo it's Reimer. Reimer sucks, Reimer sucks!!!!!
Just curious. I take it this was videotaped by a Wild's players relative? I am James's uncle and videotaped most of his road games when he played AAA. Must have bumped into each other but I don't ever remember anyone else videotaping lol. Cool vid. I plan on putting out a tribute vid soon with his AAA and ECHL stuff.
@reimer31@phantom415 is a friend of mine. We both played Lightning together when we were younger. In 97 I believe. Anyway he was our team goalie. As we got older, I went into coaching and I told him of our young prospects. Its clear to see that I told him to keep an eye on Jamie as he came out to a few of our games and video taped the kid standing on his head.
so awesome!! you can tell its James cause when he gets scored on at 1:53, watch how he hangs his head...still does the same thing today...Optimus is the friggin man..go leaf go!!
Just goes to show you how hard he worked, no offense to James at all but he was a slug in this video. His speed is tenfold better, but you can see he kept his never say die attitude. I hope the leafs let him/Gus/Rynnas battle it out next year as opposed to going out and spending money on any more goalies.
@nikola133 Good observation. The season you see in this video was the one where his coaches really started working with him on his speed. His size and technical skills were always there but he was indeed slow. He worked so hard to get to where he is.
@nikola133 Yeah, Reims is definitely the real deal. :D
However, I think Reims and Gussy will be fighting for the 1-2 spots with Leafs and Scrivens and Rynnas doing the same but with Marlies only cause Gussy's contract doesn't enable Burkie and Co. to have him play in AHL...
I think Goose is done... I keep hearing about his heart problems and his play really hasn't been that great whereas Rynnas had a great AHL season. I think it'll be between those 3 come fall time and if Goose doesn't perform, he may be the odd man out.
@nikola133 Since when is his nickname Goose? /random
Anyways, ya gotta give The Monster a second chance. It could've just been what people call the "sophomore slump". Though, I doubt Reims will go through it cause of his personality and attitude, should still give Monster benefit of the doubt and a chance to play again to regain confidence. :) He seemed to do pretty well in AHL during conditioning stint.
Though with Owuya signed today...we now have 5 goalies. Definitely no room for Giggy.
@nikola133 I think you also have to keep in mind they're only 16 years old in this video! All of the players look "slow" and "sluggish" compared to the pro game. They're kids in this vid!
@nikola133 I'd like to see Scrivens in there too cuz when that guy is motivated he can make some pretty sweet things so if his job is on the line, I like his odds
Scrivens has played very well every opportunity he has been given, That is really the one area of the Leafs that I think they're well setup in for now and the future.
I had the previlege of coaching this kid. This guy is as level headed and as grounded as they get. If anyone deserves to be an NHLer, its him. There is no doubt in my mind he will be a great player for the Leafs and he will be the epitome of professionalism. Congrats Jamie, you earned it!
@jlcarriere Don't know if you remember me but I was James' uncle and was frequently on the bus rides :). I also videotaped Lightning road games. I know James appreciated your work with the team as did the rest of our family.
you nailed it...i liked him from the moment i heard him talking to the media the first time after he came up and started for the big club. he was humble about it, grounded. didn't let it go to his head. nothing but respect for this guy.
@jlcarriere At the time of coaching him, did you know he was going to become a starter goalie in the NHL? I congratulate you and Reimer for your excellent work. I would also like to congratulate his parents for keeping him in it because it has now paid off for him. I hope next season goes as well as the end of last season.
@jlcarriere now he is starting goalie. injured, but great. if he keeps up this good work, by the time he retires he might even have as many wins as belfour or cujo
