this song deserved to be released as a radio single in 1979/1980, unlike some of the other tunes on the Pretenders' self titled album. Most of the other songs on that album that weren't released on the radio (especially "Tattooed Love Boys") are ahead of their time!!!

this was one of the first videos, period. so, those who don't think its sophisticated or slick enough, neither was betamax or pong. i think this is a great video, and a song that has stood the test of time. remember it as a kid who was already a big pretenders fan. i put the pretenders first album right up there with nevermind and superunknown as one of the greatest all time rock albums. give it a listen if you don't know it.

Not as edgy as "The Adultress", but a fantastic period piece nonetheless.

I like their music because it defies categorization, and as someone below mentioned, it defies fitting neatly into any particular "decade". If I was unaware that it was recorded in 1979, I would have no idea of its release date.

Very strange, knowing the song at 1979 being then a student (:-)) and this is the first time I see the clip!
