  • could be our future evolutionary line

  • this is mars when earth was in the era of early life2

  • Honestly dude, it's just a simple question.

  • I'd just like to ask the author of this video why the word "MARS" is in the title. Darwin IV has very little to do with Mars.

  • you know, this video is great, but it makes you wonder, what would scientists REALLY do if they found real life forms like these?

  • Comment removed

  • @Caponehusky1995 They would all have sciencegasms. It would be one of the greatest holy grails of human discovery and achievement to ever occur in the history of mankind.

  • Is there any chance that you could remove "Mars" from the title of this video? It's really misleading to some people.

  • 2:18 LOL alien cows!

  • Might I ask why you included "Mars" in the title?

  • Help me out... Didn't Barlowe pubish a book years ago with artistic renderings of various alien characters from the sci-fi classics of the 60's & 70's? I know there have been a number of attepmts by artists to depict some of the more imaginitive alien beings, and I could have sworn he did one of them!

  • @dukes0916

Yes, I think that's called Barlowe's Guide to Extraterrestrials.

  • @dukes0916 did you know that Barlowe designed the aliens in Avatar??

  • @fgt73

Yes, he helped, he is so win.

  • Harryhausen should have made that Sinbad on mars movie way back when. That would have been weird stuff.

  • whats the song? btw love the video...i loved the show

  • Welcome to H.P. Lovecraft's nightmares.

  • thumbs up if you think i have a big sexy dick..

  • now thats a beautiful song, unlike the other Darwin IV videos with there shit annoying and depressing background music, those guys who made those videos................... NEED TO DIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i wonder though, how do those aliens see

or are they flat out blind, because i don't see any eyes.

  • @MrOTK1995 They use Sonar, like whales and dolphins

  • I OWN the book Just kidding I checekd out from my libary

  • whoa i've never seen 0:49, 2:01, 2:09, 2:15, or 3:11 before

    those pictures are breathtaking

what are those in the pic at 2:09 and at 2:15? and what's that small thing in the foreground at 2:56?

  • @Koga33525 oops i meant to say 1:49

  • @Koga33525 At 0:49 one transalpine floater and a few springwings. At 2:15 there are three mutated cows in a zoo on earth. And at 2:56 that small thing is the skull of an animal.

  • you have three pics that aren't even from darwin 4 and u used the gyrosrinter pic twice

but it is still a good job

  • 0:22 FTW

  • This is awesome

  • Thats what i love about movies, why do they always have alien life with two arms and two legs? why cant it be so completely different?

  • I got the movie version (Alien Planet) for my birthday 2 weeks ago. It's very good, but not as good as the book.

  • Amazing book!

  • what is the music ?

  • Besides flying, walking and crawiling...could there be another way of moving?

I just cant seem to imagine.

The aliens on Darwin move the same, as they do on Earth. Besides for that sapient creature, which flotes using helium.

  • Methane actually, but you must remember that they must evolve so I don't see a way to evolve wheels or electro-magnetic levitation by natural selection. Walking and crawling and pretty much everything that involves legs or wheels is the only way to walk around. Floating, sailing, gliding, flapping, and rotating blades are the only ways to naturally move, (levitation isn't). As for water, anything that moves the water around you, changes your buoyancy, or makes go with the current is applicable

  • Wheels could be possible, but not with electro - magnetic stuff...they could be like ancient greek chariots.

oh...and theres another way of moving - sliding. Like snails use slime. maybe aliens will consist completely of slime...?

  • I would kill for an epic RPG based on this.

  • You'd be like some stranded researcher in like some hazard suit :o

And like you travel Darwin IV trying to stay alive among the titans who live there.

  • im planning on making a spore adventure based this when i have the most realistic aliens

  • @vampirelover12341

My Spore account, Syringe, has some pretty good renditions of these creatures, if you want to add them.

  • 3:09 - WHAT? THAT ISN'T DARWIN IV

  • Now, what on earth is that thing at 0:55? It's not even in the book, OR the internet! Where did you find it?

  • Not to sure but it's from Wayne barlowe

  • @dylanshane

    How do you know?

  • @dylanshane really? b/c it looks like there's a skewer-like thing flying in the background

i'd love to know the name of it and a description too

  • Anyone who thinks that any of these are unrealistic or uncreative because they share many similar characteristics are total fucking morons.

  • The creature at 0:05 looks like an anteater

  • Were did you get all of these pictures, I went to the website and theres only 9. oh and I like the music can you tell me who did it.

  • Wayne Douglas Barwlowe's book, Expedition.

  • Man it would be cool if these creatures existed

  • my fav is the Bladderhorn on 3:04

  • 2:42 = rayback!

i love all these aliens, because they actually look ALIEN, unlike little-green-men.

  • Exactly! If aliens are real, they would look something like this. It's almost impossible for life on different planets to evolve like we did. : )

  • Yet they seem to have the ability to visit our planet and have technology way more advanced than ours. These here are portrayed as the various "animal" species of the planet, the supposed, inferior beings.

  • True, true. But my perception on the whole "alien" theory is that whatever is out there, would prabobly be something us humans could have never anticipated or imagine. A slight difference in a planet's atmosphere, gravitational pull or posistion in it's solar system can create beings that have to evolve and adapt. Like we did. Not "little green men" with space ships. But there could also be intelligent life.

  • Some of these creatures are very similar as the ones from the movie "Pitch Black" - Did Barlowe design those too?

  • Yeah they are similar

  • I love these kind of pictures, Nothing could be more exotic then watching these alien lifeforms go about their daily business. Not even a timetrip to the primordial earth.

  • At 1:10 that alien is called the

    bolt-tongue, cousin of the arrowtongue

  • It's an arrowtounge, genious.

  • @SixTailedNaruto64 yeah it is

  • The song is Dead Reckoning by Clint MAnsell a.k.a best song writer EVER!!!!!!! im not wrong

  • Great isn't he? Check out some of my other clips with awesome instrumentals too ( :

  • @danny90z

You're a sad example of human failure.

  • Your one to talk. Jesus, you talk like a hybrid between a redneck and a real nasty Brit.

  • plz tell em whast the music u used.

  • 2:17 = Mutant cows.

  • Stop at 0:55... What... IS that!?

  • Great video. 5 stars from me.

  • I've got the book that has this awesome alien artwork. ^^

  • Damn, whats the song?

  • Nossa!!!! fenomenal ....vidas em outros mundos outros planetas intergalactico ....Parabens

  • readlly cool creature wow this people got great imagination thanks for posting this video you did a super job on it

  • Thank you, Check out my other pictures i have of the same genre in my videos xD

  • Some ideas are very cool indeed. But... are animals with fur kinda unpopular in astro-zoological fiction?

  • all the creatures in these pictures dont have fur really?

  • Hm... there's one that kinda looks like a cow, maybe it has fur... but all the others are "naked".

  • I saw that, it confused me for a while until realizeing it was an alien lol

  • Do aliens HAVE to evolve fur? One thing I like about Darwin IV's ecosystem is that it has very noticably shared traits, for example, being a liquivore, or using sound as a primary sense. And being hairless :P

  • By the way, the cow thing is actually a cow from earth, mutated due to pollution at the time period of the book. In the book, almost all wilderness on the planet Earth has died out or become hideously mutated.

  • lmao the music is from smokin aces the movie

  • Thanks now I know

  • i dont get it is Darwin a real planet

  • Read the description FICTIONAL

  • thanks

  • This just shows that even on earth there still are very primitive life forms. The Turdus Manus always exists by no more than a tounge lash away from "inter urinas et faecis." In colloquial terms it is known as the "T'aint."

  • *Applause for nor888vast695* You sir, are the greatest man in existence. Congratulations! XD

  • Thank you! I need all the good graces I can get.

  • I sense extreme irony concerning danny90z's comment.

  • @xxPrototype87xx no, it's a fictional planet.

  • He is good

  • watched the docco is was very very awesome , love the pics!

  • wow very nice! whats the song?

  • Cool art!!

  • Awesome, very awesome. And you have 10 images total that I don't have. Could you plez tell me were you got them at?

  • Wow Amazing! Loved the theme in the background for it =D , whats it called?.

    nice selection of pictures!
