@bgbubba111 The cove was kinda brown but the beach side was fairly green. Also, corpus christi beach water was very green on the day the rita swell hit I surfed bob hall early that morning and it was awesome there. Long peeling over head waves breaking out past the end of the pier. Each set kept breaking further and further out and it was very clean. Sets of about 5 would roll in every few moments, There were only about 5 or 6 people out that morning and it was awesome!
yeah alot of ppl think that the gulf coast doesnt get big but it really does. if we get a hurricane its huge but the quality just aint as good. but tropical storm don sent pensacola beach a head and a half swell

@chasewentz you are right bro that fucker is a kook!! if he would open his fucking eyes every now and then and pay attention the texas gulf coast coast water can look as good as florida!! i live in the galveston bay area and i see it greenish blue alot!! yeah its chocolate alot too but it all depends on weather conditions!!
@Lokura135 Your an idiot and have obviously never surfed texas that much. On the regular our waves are crap, but give us a storm and we can have great surf. I was at SPI for Rita and there were big wave surfers from the north shore towing in on 20 ft waves. Also, the water down at SPI is generally green all the time. Yes the water can be pretty off colored on the middle and north coast but it gets very green down south especially in the summer on calm days. Dont comment if u dont know!
@rsktransport as far as i know that tow in surfing crap for rita is a myth, or i have not seen videos yet. but i was their for rita and every one was in dolphine cove i didnt see any one tow in and i didnt seen any jet ski's go past the jettys. if u know of a vid you should link it :D
The 7th image in the slide show after the map of Texas was Murray Redd (late '70's) dropping in left at Puerto. Nothing close to it in Texas. Probably shot by John Walling from Houston on our return trip from El Salvador. The rest was goo stuff, thanks for posting!

@Lokura135 Texas waters do get blue , all depends on the Gulf Coast current .. In fact the water is very blue when you get about a mile out .
