Surely having their right recognised is what's important and unfortunately it may not be practical nor possible to returns everyones property/land should they prefer that option. Turkish cypriot parents teach their children about 1963-1974... they tell there children what the turks did and what the greeks did. but i think greeks only know about 1974... My parents for example had to leave their village in the 1960's... some greeks think that people were only forced out of heir homes in 1974, when in fact 1974 was the last year of that war.

hey! i have to agree with you and i think everyone should know '63-'74 and i'm feeling lucky that i know that bcs i changed my mind who turkishcypriots are, i know both sides made big mistakes but here we are in 2008 trying to find a solution with dialogues and meetings. what both sides should do is to reject anyone who is trying to interfer in the solution problem. e.g england and usa. if we want to set our goal we are going to solve it as cypriots. 21/2/1959 Kutsiuk while talking to a cypriot crowd is greeting the return of the turkish troops in cyprus after 80 years.

28/7/59 the turkish representative asks the creation of a federation state

18/10/59 Engglish ship stops the turkish ship "Denyz" carrying explosives to cyprus, obviously to turkish cypriots.

31/3/61 tc parliament members refuse to renew the taxation law for another 3 months so the newly formed Rebuplic of Cyprus cannot collect taxes.
