  • Heh. Providing free entertainment to guest of the hotel, after it was too late to change reservations. Once again, ego trumps reason.

  • Compared to the T mobile UK flash mobs, this is hit

  • @AzErNy

they wouldn´t make more money or would get a fair contract or any of this, even for more work! and thats the point! obviously you are just stupid...

  • @013730134215

Amazing, mature response there Wofat...Way to address the issue and make a great point. I stand by my position here. Strikes have been around for ages, this is just another way to do it. Should the american workforce bend over for companies that do them wrong? Is that what you are saying? Not right. And I'll say it again, kids hear much worse than "gayass" on the playground (school or not). Do you honestly think these kids won't learn these words from their peers?

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!

  • San Francsico ?? don't you mean ' Francisco ' ? :D

    BTW, Great way to express.

  • How does driving customers away from a hotel help the employees again? I forget.

  • @kesayo It hurts the employer by causing them to lose business. Same logic as a strike, work-to-rule, or any other form of anti-productive industrial action.

  • That was extremely engenius!!!

  • Well I'm just a working stiff, but after seeing this I'm opposed to worker's rights... A truly pathetic display- "gayass" Do u see there are kids in the lobby? Wow- u kooks are harming your own cause. Is this what our public schools are teaching? Childish, ineffective, garbage.

  • @WoFat69

To:WoFat69: Wow, for a working stiff you seem to have no concept of the actual working public. If you think that the word "gayass" , is the main issue with our children today, than their are more issues than I can possibly describe. A: Do you honestly think that our kids won't learn profanity from our peers. They will. Who do you want them to learn from? Really? I would be happy to teach them my ideals. In fact, I would be thrilled. Send them to me. Please.

  • @WoFat69 Stuff like this helped bring down the Polish communist government- look up "Orange Alternative". If it works, don't knock it.

  • @WoFat69 You claim to be a "working stiff", yet the word "gay ass" is enough to turn you against fair wages and health care for hotel workers? That's childish. They came up with a song they thought people would pay attention to. If it gets its message across and people listen, it's effective. And believe me buddy, kids hear a lot worse than "gay ass" from their nasty, snot nosed peers on a regular basis.

  • wtf not flash mob thats flash... comdy

  • Good emphasis on the importance of the rights of workers

  • but wait a second Drago. If these people are fighting for you and all local 2 members, you are probably getting 10 bucks per hour only and there will be no union. Some body have to fight for the rest of the people. I'm a pipe fitting union too and our wage is exceptionally high coz our union fight for us. 78/hr brother!

  • That group obviously has way too much free time.

And no common sense. Honestly, if you have that much time to put together this parody of a song, then you obviously have enough time to work at your job and earn some money out of it.

  • @DragoSonicMile: I don't think they have too much free time. The working conditions are often very bad. And they often work more and more for the same wage. That's not fair! And I won't begin to write about healthcare!

I'd always support this group! I can share their pain!

  • @jhanssen87 Their working conditions are bad? They are paid to stand around in an air conditioned building all day. We (taxpayers, consumers) owe them what exactly.

I live in SF, and these people have an amazing sense of self entitlement. Demanding handouts is not good enough... they literally take it from you at some places. If these people think life/people owe them anything, they need to travel more. Most of them don't even acknowledge life outside the city. Ignorant lot.

  • If they're all gay, shouldn't they be better dancers?!?

  • @VaneWimsey well you just rely on stereotypes then to believe that

  • You've got guts! :)

  • You've got gouts! :)

  • @giusy84 You've got goats!

  • @dovie2blue yeah that too... :)

  • @giusy84 ;) heh.

  • Has the instrument part ever heard of pitch?

  • I stayed in this hotel once, It was pretty dumpy.

  • What a bitch. Leave the poor front desk agent alone.

If you're going to be so obnoxious in public, you can at least not suck so badly.

  • I got news for you spammaplease, is almost imposible to "outsource" hotel industry and on the other hand, the misery of this country is that the riches getting richer at employees expenses. so, deal with it.

  • Odds any of these people in the performance know the effects unionizing labor groups has on American economy (and as a result outsourcing US jobs) - 1 in about 2,000.

  • This is distasteful. I love flashmobs and it would have been cool if they did a dance or something but they shouldnt have mixed it with their protest. If they want to boycott the hotel they should just not go there in the first place... Yelling in the lobby about their problems seems childish. Im all for giving those workers what they deserve but this wasnt the way to do it.

  • @sunchipsftw12

Yea, i never understood why they got that name 'flashMOB' in the first place either!

  • @sunchipsftw12 you strike where it hurts the businessman and this place is the hotel where he collects the money. You dont strike where it is proper according to your savoir vivre

  • Best video of all time.

  • Certainly the best worker's rights protest I've ever seen. Good luck in your mission guys! Solidarity from the UK xx

  • I think the guys are danced better than the girls

  • i believe in fair wages NOT unions - with rare exception

  • @WAR41 it would be nice. It's called caring for your fellow human being. Noone needs that much money. No single person could ever need it or purposefully use it. And if you want to see CEOs that have a heart... w w w inc.com/articles/2010/08/bryan-sims-giving-pledge.html

  • Last night at a party someone put on Bad Romance and like half of the people there sung your lyrics above the Gaga-version ^_^

  • FUCKING LOVE IT!!

  • @spebeenz - There's no need for your personal attacks. Is that what you think this is about, "stand[ing] up for their rights?" I strongly disagree. I believe as did the US Founding Fathers (considered "smart" even "genius" by many) that we are born with certain inalienable rights and among those does NOT include the right to a job or health care.

Also, what do you have against the rich? If it's legal and not infringing on the rights of others what do you care how much money they make?

  • @presidentpit didn't you get the memo? Rich people are responsible for all of the problems in this country, especially rich white males. People like spebeenz are angry that they do not make good money, but they are not willing to work for a better salary or benefits. There are winners and there are losers in this world, there are smart people and there are stupid people and there are hard workers and lazy workers.... you decide which of these the people in this video are.

  • @WAR41 and some people are douchebags that think pushing papers or telling others what they should do means they should get paid 200x more than a guy that sweats and bleeds for his money.

  • @a32ozcoldcup typical lib response. All emotion and no intellect. With the exception of SOME (not even close to all) CEO's of companies who deal with more pressure in an average day than the lifetimes of tall he ape workers in this video combined, who makes 200x more than them? People earn more money because they work harder, they have analytical minds and they shoulder more responsibility. If a CEO was paid the same as a desk clerk why would they want to take on the responsibility? They wouldnt

  • @WAR41 Average CEO was paid 10 million to 15 million $ in 2005. Average worker was paid 40,000 $. That is actually OVER 200x more in salary. Douchebag. In addition, CEO pay between 1990-2001 rose 545%. Common sense will tell you that minimum wage didn't come even close to that. Your average worker's salary didn't rise anywhere near that much. Noone said pay a CEO minimum wage, but if you think that such a dramatic difference is fair, you are already a lost cause.

  • @a32ozcoldcup That's cute.... "A chief executive officer of a Standard & Poor’s (S&P) 500 index company was paid, on average, $9.25 million in total compensation in 2009." Not only is your $10-$15 mil number wrong, but that is ONLY for S&P 500 companies. You have chosen to ignore CEO's from non S&P 500 companies which I suspected you would do. This comes from your people too ww.aflcio.org/corporatewatch/paywatch/#_ftn1 I must be such a lost cause because I don't buy into what you say!

  • @WAR41 I put 2005. Didn't feel like wasting a lot of time on you. So what you are arguing is that my 200x figure is still low. 200x the average salary of an American worker is still closer to 8 million. Thanks for proving my point.

  • @a32ozcoldcup annnnnndddddd you have YET AGAIN chosen to ignore that not only was the number I pulled lower than your number, but it represented S&P 500 companies ONLY. You do know the difference between S&P 500 companies and non-S&P 500 companies right? Do you not think that outside of S&P 500 companies that the salaries might be lower and that those salaries might drag down that average. Thanks for proving that you have the mind of a 3rd grader.

  • @WAR41 oh and another thing. I don't where you come from or what you've done with your life, but if I and thousands of other American veterans can survive Iraq without making millions of dollars I'm sure CEOs could do their job just as efficiently while making a little less. Don't tell me about CEO's dealing with pressure... I'm sure it's hard getting paid millions, living in mansions and playing golf all the time...

  • @a32ozcoldcup And yes, all CEOs do is play golf and roll around in their money all day long. They do not make tough decisions that affect the entire company and could potentially run them into bankruptcy every day. Just stop with your whining. I am not a CEO, but I am not sitting here whining about how much money SOME (not nearly all) CEOs make. Tell you what, why don't you become a CEO for a S&P company so that you can make all of that money and give all of it to the poor hotel workers!!!!

  • @WAR41 Are you claiming that the people in the video are just bad, lazy workers? Also, your view on capitalism and how things should and do work is simply not how things work. When the gap in wealth between the rich and poor is as huge as it is today, huger than its ever been since the great depression, then there are indeed problems, and it causes our economy to collapse.

  • @Pwells1 Trickle down doesn't work when the wealthy are continually taxed more and more and consumer prices go up due to, oh I don't know, perhaps increased benefits for hotel workers who don't deserve it. These people have the same opportunity as anyone else to get a college education and make something of themselves. Maybe instead of spending so much time choreographing a stupid song and dance they should study for the SAT's or the GMAT. But no that isn't fun! It's hard work! :(

  • @presidentpit When the gap between the top rich people and the poor people becomes as big as it is today, then capitalism ceases to function like it should. The trickle down principle of republican economics also ceases to function like it should because the top percentage keep the wealth from trickling down. Here we are in an economic downturn, record unemployment rates, and yet some companies are recording record profits. There's a disconnect there.

  • @Pwells1 - I actually don't believe in "republican economics" and put more stock in the Austrian School Free Market theory economists like Ludwig von Mises, Murray Rothbard, F.A. Hayek and Peter Schiff because they accurately predicted our current crises as well as the Great Depression. The very fact the US economy is run by a privately owned central bank (a.k.a. The Fed) means there hasn’t been Free Market Capitalism for at least approx. 100yrs. I would say what exists today is Corporatism.

  • @presidentpit also, keynes was a f@ggot

  • @presidentpit Also, in the days of our founding fathers, a shot of whiskey and the amputation of your shot limb was the proper treatment for a gun shot wound. They didn't have medical care like we have today. And everyone should be able to benefit from that on some level. It's simply disgusting and inhuman to say otherwise

  • Don’t get me wrong. There is a difference between entitled & deserving/needing. Advances in science & technology does not alter the principles of individual rights or personal liberty. I argue that no person is “entitled” to a job or health care as a divine right. Thankfully in the US you are FREE to seek work elsewhere or start your own biz. A “shot limb” may deserve/need medical attention but if someone was forced to care for it because you feel you’re entitled – well, isn’t that slavery?

  • Really great action!! That's one way the system should fought!! :-))))

  • I didn't think it could get worse than Lady gaga... it just did.

  • hahahah u don't know how this is good publicity for the hotel

  • As a gay man I have to say I'm thoroughly embarrased by these assholes disrupting normal business - there are better ways to make your point idiots!

  • @retroventure it is all how you look at life, not only did they get their message out but did it in an entertaining way for the patrons of the hotel, very impressive unlike those "tea partiers" who just yells hate

  • @retroventure Would you have said the same to the Stonewall rioters? Needless to say, too, that not having a fair contract or healthcare tends to disrupt one's "normal business" but I guess they're only the scum workforce.

  • One or two of the chicks were ok looking. Most were kinda gross.

  • Solidarity from Greece! Keep the Great Work !!

  • wow, this was really courageous! good job!

  • I didn't feel it... the concept is semi-okay.

    *take baton to town!*

  • Trespassers, bordering on terrorism. Boycott/assemble/protest on public property.

Your protest is probably actionable and hopefully - next time - security will stick a boot up your asses (which most of you probably adore).

  • i totally know where that's at.

there are always strikes and boycotts there!!

  • That hotel lobby looks amazing; I'll definitely stay there this Fall!

  • you guys can probably get affordable healthcare since your all clearly disabled

  • @oldhat69 come on man... don't make it so easy to come back at you. Its "you're" not "your". I hate to be the grammar police, but when you call out some one for being an idiot at least spell and grammar check your sentence.

  • @WAR41 Yeah, fair point. I can be an ass, I was just in a bad mood, many apologies.
