The remastering of this recording is almost unbelieveable. I must admit Lew White has never been a favorite vintage artist but now I realize that I might have been influenced by poor audio examples. I have a new respect for "Roxy's favorite artist" after hearing this fine selection. Thanks for sharing!
It is my pleasure to offer these great organist of the past. Stay tuned, I have many more to come. Thank you too on your comments, I try my best with these old records. Lot depends on the condition of the record.
Agreed. Lew White's recordings were described as running "a poor second" against Jesse Crawford in the original era of theatre organs. Recordings I've heard by this artist heretofore gave strong evidence as to why, but this recording certainly bears out a notable exception. The Lew White style was typified by Gaylord Carter as "breezy": This is the first example I've heard which bears this out. Laid-back enough and bluesy enough to be closer to George Wright than Jesse Crawford!
I'm amazed at how well the organ recorded electrically. Even the first ones from 1925 sound great. I've never heard an acoustic organ record. Know of any?
Love those organ photos, they are beauties! This is such a great rendition of Ain't Misbehavin', I feel like I am in Radio City Music Hall! Thank you Pax41.
A fabulous tune and one of my favourites. Very nice arrangement. Thanks for uploading it.

I did see one on ebay a few weeks ago. So I know there were some made but probably not many.
