Lord, honey. I now have shoulder-length hair...used to have unmanageable Apostolic hair. After watching your video I remember how much my arms hurt and how frustrated I got working on my hair... I can still do an updo, but it's quick,

one clip holds it up and it it's cute without all that work!

Coconut oil it kills bad yeast in ur hair aka dandruff , softens and conditions under the shaft making your hair really healthy no need for trimming.

Apostolics believe that the women should not cut their hair that it is what God wants as reverence to him and the angels. Therefore, not only is it extremely important to dress appropriate but keep your hair long.

i dont wanna be rude, but what i really dont get is why someone would ask to pray for their hair to grow and why it would be shameful to wear it short. we dont really have that many pentecostals in europe and while im christian (catholic) and can understand the whole 'dress modest' code i dont really get why you'd make such a big fuss of hair. im not hating or anything, i just wanna know! (i really like the hairstyle btw!)

I have really long hair, Its actually down to the small of my back, and in excellent condition, my secret?

heheeheheh, well I'll tell you; Palmers cocoa butter, if you Shampoo your hair daily, use it once a week, 2 hours before washing, otherwise, maybe every 2 weeks.

Obviously, if you are going to perm, or colour your hair, leave at least 2 shampoo's without using it. and use specific colour or perm shampoo, then carry on as usual.

@elizajonas209 I was Apostolic for 25 years and my hair never grew past my shoulders. Do not be ashamed of yourself. God loves you no matter how long your hair is. I'm glad He still loves me!

Additionally short hair on women, in Corinth, was a sign of prostitution and immorality, therefore Christian women were encouraged to have long hair. Following the social norms is what the verses in 1 corinthians is all about.

Ummm guys Paul spoke to the church of Corinth about men being disgraceful by having long hair, because in Corinth, long hair on a man was a sign of prostitution and immorality. These biblical verses refer to following social norms at that particular time in history. There is really no practical application for hair today, if you want long hair then fine, if not then thats fine too. Somebody mentioned asking God for holiness in their hair, seriously? Tell that crap to the cancer patient.

gotta agree with you in that the long hair thing as well as the covering of the hair thing were what was deemed appropriate at that point in history. I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with having long hair but you can't assume that just because Paul instructed the Corinthian church to do something means that it applies to all Christians from then on until eternity. I'm a born-again Bible believing Christian trying to follow God to the best of my ability aside from the long hair rule.

@therealalexisbeach  Don't feel bad, my good friend and I are going on 3 years in, and both of us did right before too. Along with alot of other sisters we have talked to! I think what it is... is that the devil knows he's bout to lose and has to get one last lick in beforehand. haha! It'll grow though! And hair dye will work its way out, and crooked crazy cuts will even out, I assure you!

Because main stream women don't have hair down past their hip area, and this is considered a "conservative" hairstyle. I personally think its beautiful. :)

Because its not considered "normal hairstyles" and since we have extra long hair, we have adapted hairstlyes to fit such long hair. Because the Bible teaches us to have uncut long hair, most women tend to have lots of hair. I personally wish my hair was as long as Abigail's here, but its been growing a lot lately, and im really exited to watch my hair become close to hers :)

Because us Apostolic ladies have really long hair and so we do our hair in different dos. You don't normally see people doing these kinds of styles unless they have a reason. People just call it Apostolic hairstyles. There's no really certain reason..
