  • It's from a 1930's musical called the Cradle will Rock by Mark Blitzstien. It's rarely performed today cause it's pro-union. There was a excellent movie with the same name by Tim Robbins which is the story about the hardship of getting the musical produced & performed. like the musical the movie is way underrated because of it's liberal/left message.

  • @sirmercutio99 hey you're saying that this song is not her own but a cover or what? I discovered it yesterday and i LOVE it. I was just saying to a friend that this song is like a whole movie..like a whole story with the melody and the lyrics. :)p

  • Peaceless, Yes, Blitzstein's songs are all like whole stories. Get the movie from a few years ago "Cradle Will RocK' and you can hear the orgininal arangement of this song which I prefer, and several others from the show.

  • THANK YOU!!!!!
