This work must surely contain the most spectacular and monumental cadenza in the entire piano concerto literature, and to hear Nikolayeva play it is a revelation. She raises it far above the level of a display warhorse.

My all-time favorite recording of the Fantasy, as well as her Tchaik2, for more than 50 years. It's good to have it on YT.
