  • I know someone from Laos who is Tai Lue and she sounds just like this lady, same accent.

  • almost understand!!

  • Excellent presentation.

  • @ JINXIAN2536 the dict en-thai u can download free dict hope. the online u can search "longdo" or download my dictionary 3.52. the point of mouse can translate.

  • @JINXIAN2536 I don't disagree with you since she is legally Chinese. She is also most likely to be Tai which is Lao and Thai originated from. Even in Laos, Lao people from different villages have different accents, so it is not so surprise that she has Chinese accent. However, I think she sings better than many people in Laos and Thailand.

  • I speak Thai and Lao and understand Northern Thai(Lanna), and surprisingly I understand most of what she said in the beginning! I really want to learn Tai Lue though the dictionary or online resources are hard to find.

  • sound abit like vietnamese

  • Sabaidee! all Khonlaos around the world..........including you! JaoStudio1 thxz 4 sharing.

  • True Spoken sound from Pinong Sipsongpanna Hou...Sing Dok Champa Mueng Lao in Ancient Tongue LHK ^_^

  • Sipsongpanna,,, you sing Ok,, Dok champa is national lao song, every lao knows this song.... when talking about lao population abroad I believed more than 250,000 families who were settled in USA alone since 1975, family has more than one person..In USA everywhere we go we see Lao there...I believe Lao who live abroad is closed to 2 millions...we need to contact census bureau office to see how many Lao people who are currently living in USA. I may call census office so they can check into it

  • This is how my lao ancestors speak, how interesting. Now, I fully realized that lao is not small as I once though. I'm even more sadden that there is not a true lao nation, and a lao king existed; If get this correctly, lao sip song panh nah was invaded, and now, controlled by China; one of lao king was killed by siam, and they took half of lao populations(Issan); the last lao king was killed by lao communist/Vietnam, which controlled by Vietnam. Where should I + my children belong to?

  • @phetpraseuth Ask yourself what Lao mean? The word "lao" means a person with respect. When you talking about a person you say "lao". As I have said before history is identity.

Learning and teaching will enshrine the Lao identity. Lao population worldwide is more then 30 millions strong. With today's communication technology the truth with spread and truth will prevail and justice will be served.

Where you and your children are does not matter as much as knowing who you are.

  • @LoogKaoNeo U r very well verse on history; what's your profession, if I may ask? U have a clear and insightful in this field! Tne number, 30m strong lao pple, what's your method did u used in your estimation? Thank you very much for your repplied!

  • @phetlao The UN estimated consensus was 25 millions and that was like decade ago. The Issan (20 millions) and Lao (6.7 millions) population alone is approximately 26 millions. Lao living abroad worldwide close to 1 million. Some of those numbers are based consensus estimated a decade ago. That is not including newborns.

So I estimate close to 30 millions.

  • @LoogKaoNeo Thank you; It makes sense; my family started with 7 members in 1979, but now, my clan has 19 members.

  • I like Sipsongpana CHINA version as much as Laos version... Way to go all Tai-Laos people, good song

  • kob jai ti upload..

    muck laiy...

  • I love her accent haha

  • A Dok Champa Meung Lao song is not only symbolically important to a nation of Laos, but it also wholeheartedly reprsents for the beauty of its people's culture, language, tradition and ways of life. I am very delightful to hear this song whom she sang it extremely well. To correct what you wrote down as Pee Nong Issan, she is in fact a Pee Nong Sipsongpanna. I am sure that you know of Pee Nong Sipsongpanna people are our great ancestor.

  • What is significant about Dok Champa song?

    Isn't song for all Tai?

  • Dok Champa is a symbolic greatness and beauty of the emergence of the Lao Lang Xang kingdom whose anologies are to reflect the beauty of the nation of Lao, its people, culture and language.

  • Knowing where you came will direct you to where you will go. You should understand that there are no difference between us but time and influince. We are one and one of the same. Sabidee

  • Yin dee lai lai

  • i like this song very much. SIPSONGPHANNA is great, CHINA is strong

  • tai means jao in pa sa laos not means free maybe pa sa thai ok.go to lao history #2 and listen carefuly .

  • this is the lao, thai and shan ancestors. this is where you tai language comes from.

  • Well to be more specific tai lue (lue meaning north) are tai lao from the lan xang period. This song is from that period. Dok champa is a lao flower, thai don't called it dok champa unless of course if they are lao descendent.

  • this is good song made me miss my towm in vientiane I love you vientiane

  • This song is the same as Laotian song and there no different.

  • it's because this song is a lan xang song. Dok champa is a tai lao name for that flower not a tai Bangkok name for it, they have a different name for this flower. Champa was a former kingdom East of the Khmer before it became Vietnam. That's where the name for Champasack and dok champa.

  • This is great song to share internationally. sorry for those who don't appreciate the gift of sharing and the benefit of sharing. Without sharing, there is no love and without love there no happiness, peace and harmony.

  • what the hay is this shet? its like effing ching chong

  • what the fuck are you talking about freak

  • Hello,

First, thank you for sharing this song and sing your very best from your heart. I like this song very much, it doesn't matter what way people sing it. If it is from your heart it is art. I am a musician for many years, I have been playing in the band and teaching people of Lao music, both tradition and modern Lao Songs. I am very happy to see and listen to the people around the world sing our Laotain tradition song. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, Applause!!!

  • i luv the song "o dok champa" but the lady kinda sang it bad.

But i miss my family from laos and thailand and this song makes me feel happy!

  • Give her a break! It's not that bad. It's sung in a different culture. We should be proud of her and Lao song.

  • i didn't mean it in a bad way! But i just said "kinda a bad voice"!I know it's sung in a different culturen and u can give me a break too.

all said in a nice way!

  • Sorry, I didn't mean to say that.

  • you guy should call thai people SAIM they change thire name around 1930.

  • Thanks for sharing! Your Pi nong of Lao Lanna.

  • this is'nt lao LANNA it's lao live in SIPSONGPANhNA china . lao LANNA live in chiengmai THAI.

  • This is good thing to be reminded where we are come from. It makes me think that our ancestors must have spoken this way thousands years ago. Thanks for sharing.

  • Yes,when I was young from Lampang , I heard them old people they call this flower is Dog Jampa Lao.

  • Oh!Khun Phra, I cry when hear that she speaks. Some how I feel miss the families whome live very far.

  • She's right, when she said Muang Sibsong Panna, Muang Lao, Muang Thai .... you get it right? Blood is thicker than water, remember that.

  • SaBaiDee PEE NONG SIPSONGPANHNA, Kob Jay Lai Lai for this video I love this song, love my Lao people, love my Lao culture, love my motherland and most of all I love my Lao Kingdom. In the late of 2010, I'll will visit Lao and PEE NONG SIPSONGPANHNA. Until then PEACE TO ALL OF US. Lao Love lao 1207

  • Sip Song Panh Nah is where all the Lao (of Laos) and Thai (Thailand) people came from. Their written language is the ancient Lao writing script (Tua Nang-seu Dham).

Oh, it's so wonderful! I could understand every single word she said. It (the spoken language) is so similar yet different. That's the beauty of it.

    Thanks for posting.

  • I would like to go visit this place sometimes.

    thank you.

  • This song is everlasting in the heart of all Lao ppl. Whether they live, in Laos, in Isaan, Lao Lana, in Sip Song Phana, in Assam (India), or in Lao in Shan State in Myanmar or overseas. I understand 100% what she says and sings.

  • You're mad ? for to go to Assam territory you have to pass by the nagaland among collectors of human skull. They give you to drink the tea special at sleep and they will you behead on the day after. One solution for to go reincarnate at the earthworm ?

  • sabaidee please send me your home page i like the cd

  • Beautiful voices and interresting dialect. It is ashame I did not heard of her even though I was in the area several time. My friend host kept getting me drunk. All I get to see is people's houses. haha Nonethless it was a great experience and connection to our Lao kinsmen.

  • even though if you are shan, chiang, dao, tai, you all came from Jinghong (Xixuangbanna)

  • sookchai,do you know majority of lao spoken is in thiland?

  • Are you sure about that? why don't you check again, this time try Kasetsart University, ask for Orathai Pholdi to see what she tell you about her thesis On "Prehistory and Distinctive Dress of the Tai". In the meantime I'll be waiting for your answers. Thanks in advance

  • Hey Sookchai go check with Mahidol University and tell me what was the Tai known as.. Lol

  • lao people say thier known as lao. but if you ask each tai tribes from tai yai tai noi tai lue tai kao tai ahom. they say they are not lao. and lao was not even call lao back then they were call dao. even during lan xang lao wasnt call lao they turn into the tai lan xang. the language lao speak is even call tai kadai not lao kadai. I have alot of tai friends online i chat with they say we are your ancestor you belong to us not us belong to u.

  • Dude same different (same shit in different pile). Tai include group such as Lao, Northern Thailand, Thai Siam, Shan State, Tai in Vietnam, Tai in Cambodia, Tai in Yunnan province etc. Today, it is base on the country, however the root is Tai!

  • You are rite. To me I think Thailand is really Tailand. Thai is just how some people pronounce tai. For example Tai dum some people would say Thai dum.

  • You better take a look at National Geographic printed Washington March 1971.

  • where is sip song panh nah??? i never heard of it..

  • Southern China, Yunnan

  • in sip song panh nah, r they speak lao??

  • I think that they speak this language called Tai Lue, which is similar to Thai and Lao but more similar to Lao than Thai

  • o ok i see..

  • they speak dai or tai. thats were the lao thai language came from.

  • O cool, thats news to me lol.

  • no problem I know history. lol

  • lol good for u..

  • Good Voice, How can buy her CD and VCD?

  • Her name is "ORN NOI." She is very popular, that when she goes out people pay her to walk outside haha She won so many musical awards. I don't know where I put her VCD. When I find it I will upload it.

  • She is singing Lao's song

  • This song is everlasting in the heart of all Lao ppl. Whether they live, in Laos, in Isaan, Lao Lana, in Sip Song Phana, in Assam (India), or in Lao in Shan State in Mianmar.

  • she sings like chinese opera

  • This is E-On Noi. I met with her when I was in Sipsongpanna, China. Very nice lady and a great Tai Lue singer.

  • I hope your older than her to be calling her "E" ON NOI. If not, you should be calling her "Bpee ON NOI"

  • In Tai Lue "E" means Miss which is the same as calling someone "nang" in Lao. It is not a derogatory, insulting or inferior in any way. The Tai Lue also refer to the men as "Ay" equivalent to "Thao" in Lao--not to be confused with "older brother."

  • That's right. The language may be very similar yet there are some differences. Just to give you an example, in Tai Dam language, "E" means older sister like "euai" in Lao.

  • Great song from our motherland of Lan xang!!

  • sounds like Chinese singing Laotians song

  • she is tai lue.... she is not laotian...plus she is from china....tai lue speak more like lao and thai..

  • Tai Lue keeps the TRUE TAI or Queen language. They don't change there language like Thai or Lao do. If you want to hear how the true Tai sound like listen to Tai Lue or if your in Laos go to Muang Sing..that's true TAI language haha

  • she is tai, just like you fool. that is your ancestor and the lao language you speak of is Tai or Dai language.

  • interesting , but cool in a way.

  • this is something new for me thanks what kind of dailect is this?

  • True Tai language or Queen language...

  • this is tai lue language that is similar to lao language.

  • sipsongpanna was part of Lan Xang. Tai lue is tai north. tai lue and tai lao are the same people. We just got separated that's all. Tai sukhothai use to speak the same dialect as lan xang too before tai Bangkok(chinese influence) dialect became the modern language of Thailand.

  • thanks for your comment.

  • she mumbles too much ahahaha me dont understand her hahaha!

  • I can understand when she says but it is too hard to understand when she sings.

  • if jao can understand lao, listen and jao can pick up her accent

  • Thank you so much JAO for share thji music with us where can I get this cd she is perfect.

  • hard to understand but i like how she talks lol..

  • ...her accent is very different. sounds a mix of lao/lanna dialect. her singing is very close to how chinese sing their songs. it's a different approach to this traditional music.

  • The people Lanna Tai came from Nanchao Kingdom in Yunnan province. That is why Chiang Mai is name Chiang Mai (New City). That's new city that they found haha The customs, dresses, language, etc are basically the SAME!
