The Raptor is the best air superiority fighter ever put into military production. But the Black Widow would have been better, and the F-35 will be the better investment, due to its usefulness, until the US has to fight against an airforce that is using planes built after the Cold War (i.e. not soon).

In my opinion I prefer su-32/37 in close fighting and F-22 to initial attack.
