After Effects Plug-ins 0: How to import Evolution-.mov files

When i'm trying to import a file, there just saids "After Effects error: File (******.mov) cannot be opened, it may be an unsupported format.

Please help, me out here!!!

omg i love you!!! i have to have a major assignment in, in today and you just saved my life, i just up graded to cs5 since i needed the rotoscope brush and other things and i ran into this problem when trying to import my footage and AE2, im so thankful to you, but if someone is still having trouble try to exit AE and install the latest QT and set it to default fo .mov files and then reopen AE and everything sure be good, thanks again :)

if you guys still have problems (even when you downloaded quicktme) ,and if you have Windows 7,thry runing AE as administrator...thats worked for me. xD

Calm down, Just download quicktime pro, try and get a serial for it. and then it will recognise the format of the .mov and wallah. i had the same problem like everyone here.

lostget2 is right! If you download the free Quicktime 7 from the Apple site, you can import .mov files. I just tested it on Windows 7 x64.

@Breadfan866 Look.. I have no idea how " Quick time player " works... I can't open MOV files into After effect either, so how do you open them with Quicktime player into aftereffect..? It's not even the same program.. do you link them together or what? Im so confused on this apple shit O.O

@Donnner93 You just install the Quicktime player and then you will have the proper codecs for opening .MOV files (because the Quicktime player installed them for you). All you have to do after installing Quicktime, is open or import a .MOV file into After effects. It has nothing to do with the Quicktime player, just the codecs that come with the player. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Try downloading quicktime player. I think you can't support the .mov files. Quicktime player will handle this problem.

mine simply doesnt work when i drag in ae nothing comes up or when i simply just try and play it on windows media player coz thats the file it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the Player does not support the format you are trying to play"

There shouldn't be a conversion needed. Be sure u have the good copy of the evolution pack and that you do what the tutorial says.
