Yes, that is probably the best psychological resoning behind it, but for me it's that Kim is my imagined role within the series (And favorite character), and that's why I kinda want her to be more appriciated, which she reeeeeally wasn't (I mean look at the whole Jason Kim thing), especially by Scott. :L
