I don't know where I heard this recently, but it is totally stuck in my head. I must have been a preteen or something when this came out, and I have great memories associated with it even though it is not my genre of music at all.
Nevertheless, it's a CLASSIC.
I am really happy to hear it after all this time. Wow!
Love it!!! This is a VERY under-rated guitarist. I'm hearing Beck, Santana and Hendrix all through this. Love the fact that they lay WAY back on everything. First half of the verse..... then they come back miles later after they build that groove. I would LOVE to swipe that bass player, too. Yep!
All is fair in love & War but Lin my bro you f-cked it raw and you and I know and feel it may your days be fillrd with what you indeviour all power no hate peace and love my brother.....

I was at a talent contest in the 70's when this jam broke out and as their jam to compete with...band followed band and all played this jam. It was great about 6 bands in a row jammed this tune, funky jam no doubt! : )
@saabnut98,That awesome and most underrated guitarist is Howard Scott. Most people don't know that Mr. Scott and his WAR bandmates were the last band to jam with legend Jimi Hendrix the night before he died. Howard Scott, Harold Brown, Lee Oskar, BB Dickerson still "KILL IT" to this day, but are now called THE LOWRIDER BAND because of some loser stealing their WAR name and copywrites, but they ARE still WAR. Peace.
@lowriderbandfan :Leroy "Lonnie" Jordan ( was a founding member of War), an American funk band in the 1970s and 1980s.[1] Jordan had a number of roles over the years, acting as vocalist and playing guitar, piano, synthesizer, and percussion. He was among the first three people to join the group after its inception, having joined before the group adopted the name "War" (it had previously been known as "the Creators" and "Nightshift").DO YOU KNOW YOUR FACTS!
@MRCORNERHOUSE: Yes, I know my WAR facts and then some, and that's why I don't follow the fake WAR band that is fronted by Lonnie Jordan, who chose the fame the OWNER/THIEF of the WAR name offered him, instead of sticking by his 4 WAR brothers, who are called THE LOWRIDER BAND because of all this BS. I still respect Lonnie as an OG member of WAR, but I can't respect what he's done to the integrity of the WAR name. He knows he's wrong, and yet he keeps fronting his WAR lie. 3 fingers and a : ( !!
@MRCORNERHOUSE was to young to know anything other then the grownups were bumpin this shit, thanks for the knowledge.didnt know about the stuff lonnie did either.thanks, badass track.
Remember being in a Galveston Texas beach club back in the early 70's 3 sheets in the ocean wind and the band was playing this song, never found my shirt or flip flops, woke up on the floor on my hotel room. Ah yes we were BULLET PROOF back then.
Reminds me of the movie 'American Me'
