I really only remeber two things about the Donner cut that were wrong. "Would you care to step out side" and Most importantlly "Why do you say this to me when you Know I will kill you for it?' In your reedit are you including the scenes about Lez and feeding the "baby" and Ms. Tessmockers rescue? I have never redited someone elses film but I would like to see a LONG Superman film with no Richard Pryor, Vaugn, Old Maid Borg, Nuclear Man CGI'ed into Bizarro and no Hemingway.

@daveNselena Wow, that's quite a wishlist there! I don't know that I'll be undertaking such an enormous project any time soon, my friend. My edit deals specifically with SII, and I agree with you about some of the misfires in Donner's cut. I really tried to take the very best from Donner and the very best from Lester, to create a winner, that will truly feel like a faithful continuation of STM.

from a Hackman sound alike. All of Hackman's scenes were filmed by Donner.

Hackman would not return due to his firing.

i read that all of hackman's scene's were filmed by donnor. gene finished all the work with donnor n refused to come back for reshoots for lester. so donnor filmed it and lester left it in the film.

This is exactly how I would edit it as well. I miss the doorknob line in Donner's cut. After this clip ends I would use Lester's "step outside" line along with Donner's Lois reaction where she says "Superman!", followed by more Donner/Lester footage splicing of the Metropolis street battle.

what??? the film was not edited badly. Mr Thau did the best he could...but only missing the scene where the villains rule the world. i think with this scene and some CGI help Mr Thau film can truly be like the Donner vision. With a very powerful and grown up scale. But I think this CGI reconstruction will take too much money. So to blame the Thau for editing is not fair.

I did not like the coffee boy in the Donner cut and the music cue when Non trashes the place is badly missed in Donner's cut.

Yeah I agree, although I thought the sound effects were a lot more powerful in the donner cut, more realistic and gives you more of an impact of Non's destructiveness. Would be better to combine Donners version with the musical cue from lesters in my opinion which is do-able if you have the original soundtrack on cd.
